This has been happening for a while already and it's getting really annoying.
You're hit by weapons fire (usually from long range) and you get no audio cue, no visual cue, (sparks, smoke, etc.) no directional indicator and the only way you know you've been hit is when your paper doll flashes. Best case you lose a little armor. Worst case you just silently drop dead.
Most times it's PPCs that seem to have the issue but I've also seen ACs and lasers have the same problem.

And i thought you were talking about the hits you get without a line of sight.
Sometimes i peak around a corner, see a mech, and move backward. And than, after i am already behind the wall corner again, i still get hit by the weapons. And no, not on the shoulder or arm that might still look out. I get hit on the opposite torso.
But these hits without any feedback of the hit are annoying as well.

+1, the lack of feedback from enemy hits it's extremely annoying and a lot of times you think that nothing has happened only to discover that you're cored. A lot of times you can't even understand that you're under fire.
This along with the tremendous lack of hit detection, after this month's first patch I'm really suffering, the damage output has decreased significantly because a lot of time my shots aren't registered at all or only a part of my guns are registered. I hope they'll put some work into HSR again, it's extremely unreliable even on static targets!

I have to assume that this bug is also paired with the one where a massive AC20 shot rocks your cockpit for 0 damage. Given what I know about multiplayer networking code, I have to assume GalaxyBluestar is correct:

I experience this too, but Gauss rounds seem to be where I notice it most. For me, the first indication I'm being hit is the "Critical Damage!" warning.

A lot of silent death out there lately. Another +1. I've been getting really frustrated by this.
