I LOVE the Mad Dog from the MW4 Vengeance Opener:

That's no mad Dog, that's a Vulture Mk.II (a visual redesign created using IS tools).

The difference is more apparent in that it spawned Vulture III, while the original spawned Vulture IV.

I kinda like how mw4's vulture had the turret thing going on under the nose of the ct. Gave it more of a look of its own imo.

Yea, i was just going to wright that. Fastmoving hand and turret lasers, slower torso moves. Must have turret
But still grate job. I wonder why they didn't put Vulture in clan collection

Just my 2 C-bills....

First off you got some talent man! Awesome work!!!

Make the shoulders and Missle bays come above the cockpit a bit, it looks kinda like a cone head right now. and maybe increase the size of the area where it mounts into the shoulders? The Armpit/Shoulder socket just looks small but I love the rest of the arms and the Cannon look you gave it!

Love the detail, the crazy panels on the side and all that stuff. Really makes it look like a machine with access panels to working parts and such.

Also, make that cockpit EVEN BIGGER! The artwork up there is pretty good looking I think, I would just over size the glass a bit and give it a more opened up view. But either way man LOOKS SWEET! Again, quite some talent!

Greetings all,

Why is it all the latest designs for Mech's and there missile tubes have swinging/hinged doors on the tube covers?

- There are many other options for blast and cover doors other than standard swinging single doors.
- Any damage to these small hinges and the doors will no longer function.
- Just the mechanical requirements of all these door activators is crazy. (in this stoppy robot world)
(size relation we are looking at some 1 to 1.5 foot doors.)

- Inner covers that either pivot or slide open offer much more protected operation for there working parts.
(just as an example)

The amount of collision, bashing, impact damage, and weapons fire would completely destroy most of these swinging door styles. And possibly create obstacles or obstructions for other non damaged tubes.
Mech are referenced as being environmentally sealed.
- This does not necessary include the launchers, that at some point need to be open to the elements in order to launch.
- The back blast of launching the missiles does have to go somewhere, we are not seeing any 'softlaunch' systems being used. (or for that matter flames blasting out the tube during a launch)
- Some of the Vulture designs and images show vents on the rear of the launch locations.(torso)

Many of the Mech's have open ports, some have large protected doors. The more complicated the design the easer it is to render it non-functional.
- Why any design would include having to lift up a multi-ton door (Catapult) as opposed to sliding/hinging it sideways is rather strange. (and creates a rather large break in any camo or hidden location before a launch, reference the background image of the Cat on the left.) ~ Yes it's iconic, but come-on, pivot that door to the top or side of the launcher.
- I would suggest, save all the mechanical parts and either eliminate the doors or provide a simplified design.
(for this verse it would be use, function, protection, ease of repair, maintenance, replacement)

Just some observations,
9erRed

Why? because most of the stuff is from the 80s. He is trying to make the game more modern or at the very least offer some input to push the mechs to look like they could work because other wise it breaks immersion.

Decided to start working on this model again. A lot of the model has been remodelled and made to look more like a working machine, instead of a lump of metal with doors all over it. Got rid of the legs I made, as they were awful, and used the MWO timber wolf legs, and adjusted them to my liking, and made different variants of the mech.

Wow, good to see you working on it again. Prime and C are my favorite variants. The edits to the Timberwolf legs look good. Is there a chance we can get a shot from straight ahead?

If i remember right the C has both of the Gauss Rifles in the side torsos, not the arms. Either way, they're great!

Wrong, Gauss Rifles are mounted in arms!

Both Solaris Skunk Werks and Heavy Metal Pro have the Vulture C as having the Gauss rifles in the arms...

Also the art from the TCG for the Vulture C clearly has them in the arms.

Do not judge by 1 picture, Gauss Rifles are mounted in arms but i am not sure if the arms are with or without lower arm actuators!

14-tube rocket louncher on each torso + 6 tube srm? What is 14-tube louncher?

Agree it should be LRM10 or LRM15, LRM14 does not exist!

It should be neither LRM10 nor LRM15 for the Prime variant, it should be a pair of LRM20s and no SRMs in sight. Wait, what does 14 + 6 equal again? HlynkaCG, help me out here, would ya?

Ofcourse LRM20 but think about missile hardpoints so if 1 variant will have 2 or more missile hardpoints so SRM + LRM combination will be possible and in this case It should be 6 tubes + 10 or 15 or 20.

There are more renders of the new model on page 2

Starting to work on a 3d model of the vulture and am trying to make it look MWO styled but not so it look like a totally new mech. Still need to model the legs, add details to the back, then texture and rig it.

Remodelled alot of the mech, and use the mwo timberwolf legs.
