It's been said that gladiator-style 'mech fights where betting on specific pilots to win should be implemented in the future, and I agree. What I don't agree with is the ability to take any old 'mech in there and fight under any flag.
These are 'mechs built specifically for the Solaris VII circuits:
Mantis - http://www.sarna.net...tis_(BattleMech)
Ronin - http://www.sarna.net...nin_(BattleMech)
Onslaught - http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Onslaught
Juggernaut - http://www.sarna.net...aut_(BattleMech)
The list goes on, for any of you interested in taking this further.
To rent one of these 'mechs, one would have to belong to a Solaris stable, such as these:
Banshees - http://www.sarna.net...anshees_Stables (Affiliated with Steiner/Rasalhague)
Blackstar - http://www.sarna.net...ackstar_Stables (Affiliated with House Davion)
Again, the list goes on if anyone is interested.
Although there are many arenas ranging from small to large on Solaris VII, the game would focus on the 5 open class arenas:
Boreal Reach (Polar glacier) - Davion
The Factory (Manufacturing plant) - Marik
Ishiyama (Series of tunnels) - Kurita
The Jungle (Buddhist monastery) - Liao
Steiner Coliseum (Roman-esque facade) - Steiner

Particularly sharp-eyed readers will note that most, if not all, of these 'mechs are produced later on in the timeline than this game currently takes place, and utilize weapons (LB 20-X, 'Mech Taser) that come later and are not yet implemented in MWO.
This should give devs time to iron out CW and be able to advance the tech tree to the 3060 era, as well as beginning work on a new gladiator/gambling feature (Solaris VII).
