I noticed this on the Centurion and the Awesome: Can someone explain me what these mean? Are they a hidden message from Alex? :P

They're on almost all of the mechs. They've been around for a while.

Yep, I took these screenshots almost exactly a year ago:

A box with a diagonal line through it on the Founder Cat.

Posted Image
The "awareness ribbon" on the Cent

Posted Image
A triangle on the Founder Hunchie.

There's more on other 'mechs, but these were the screenshots I found and I can't be arsed to look for new ones. It's art :D

it's a symbol for the texture artist to orientate their mapping so they can keep perspective.

Texture maps are flat surfaces so having that symbol gives you a point of origin.

To get this:

You have to draw on this flat Image and explode / unwrap it.

If you notice the symbol is always on the side side of the mech and almost always flat.

Not only point of origin but also if your texture map is backwards or not. Sometimes you can throw down a texture map and write out text and have it backwards like looking at it through a mirror.

And last but not least, signature.

the "awareness ribbon" is actually the old rune for O in scandinavian rune script also known as the Odal rune.

the first and the last are clearly military tactical signs... i´m not so sure about the "jesusfish" or the HIV ribbon...

Posted Image

just a few as an example, there are tons more alone in nato forces

i am pretty sure i have seen the triangle on vehicles before, but i can´t find them now... well :)

Well, as a point of information, the "Jesus fish" started as a secret sign Christians under Roman persecution would use to identify themselves to one another (along with a number of others). The fish was chosen because the Greek word for fish, Ichthus, was used as an acronym for Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior: Iesous CHristos, THeou hUios, Soter. (In Greek, as in all sensible languages, CH and TH are single letters, though in Koine, they were pronounced differently from our versions).

On Topic:
Mechs should be covered with this kind of thing! Jesus Fish, Norse Runes, Pentacles, 40s pinups, Peace Signs, Star League logos, National Flags, the Shahada, stupid jokes, you name it. They are in lore, in a lot of the art, and it's a huge opportunity for PGI to make major bank for a trivial amount of work.
