The Robinson Rangers , were originally a brigade of volunteer militia formed for the defense of Planet Robinson, the Capital of the Draconis March in the days before the collapse of the Star League. The unit was completely annihilated to the last man during a heroic defensive action against the Draconis Combine during the First Succession War. The valiant actions of this under manned, and under equipped militia prevented Draconis forces from securing a defensible position on the planet before additional Davion loyalists could be brought to bear.
Due to the heroic sacrifice of these volunteers in defense of their home, Prince Peter Davion commissioned two BattleMech regiments, to be named after the original unit. These two regiments were the First Robinson Rangers, and the Second Robinson Rangers.
In 3048, faced with increasing hostilities along the border with the Draconis Combine, Duke James Sandoval secretly funded a mercenary Mechwarrior unit to be made up of veteran Robinson Rangers. Hiring this unit using an array of shell corporations, Sandoval routinely uses these mercenaries to covertly strike at DCMS targets across the border. This provides the Duke with plausible deniability so as not to draw the ire of the allied Lyrans. While free to pursue their own contracts, these mercenary Rangers maintain a permanent presence on both Robinson and nearby Rochester should Sandoval need their services immediately. They also work closely with planetary defense forces throughout the Draconis March. It is rumored that they have the means to deploy anywhere in the March in a matter of days.
We are currently reorganizing to better suit the needs of Community warfare. The Robinson Rangers consist of three regiments. The Rangers are one of the oldest units still operating in MWO, being founded at the start of closed beta.
We are a roleplaying unit with about 180+ members across most timezones. We consist mostly of age 20+ players who are fun loving and mature. We are looking for new members of a similar mindset, who enjoy light roleplaying and playing MWO - both casually and competitively. We do not expect constant activity, but all members must sign bi-weekly muster postings to maintain their position.
