Since these issues directly affect personal gameplay balance/preformance this is as good a place as any to post them.

Crashing to Mechlab issues: (aka stack overflow and memory allocation errors where cryengine decides to s**t itself)

About 1 in every 50 matches over the course of MWO's beta up until the launch patch.
Currently I haven't experienced any since Fall 2013.

Black Screen of Death: (aka your driver has failed and recovered)

Use to experience them every 8 to10 matches with an easy workaround that kept me in the match.
Currently none since the recent Nvidia 332.21 driver update.

Latency: (aka packet loss and ping)

Packet Loss - In the Fall of 2013 about 1 in 30 matches I'd experience (along with everyone else present) matches where pakets dropped harder than Skrillex at a bass fishing tournament. The entire match would become a rubberbanding slide show and unplayable.

Latency - Since I began testing MWO beta august 2012 up until december 2013 I have always had a consistent 36-40 latency when connected to the game. Currently as of holiday 2013 my ping is a consistent 80-85 now with zero explaination for the phenomenon/changes on the user end.

Conclusion:
On the technical side of things MWO continues to improve gameplay for the userbase and with the puzzling exception of doubling my latency, overall the game continues to make steady progress.

Late 2012 to early 2013: D+
Mid 2013 to late 2013: B
Late 2013 to early 2014: B+

I still get a memory allocation error every now and then, but I assume 2 gigs of ram doesn't help that. Maybe once every two weeks?

In game chat breaks in 30% of my drops, unsure why.

And a strange occurrence happened the other night...I launched into testing grounds and all the mechs were shut down.

Actually I had a new visual bug last night while the match was concluding. A stalker LRM boat was the last to die and his crosshairs started slowly drifting off to the right hand side until they moved off the screen. Very odd indeed.

I used to experience all of those things, then by process of elimination, I replaced my network card and they ALL went away (I know it sounds weird, but hey, it worked)

Only real gamemplay issue I have is since the Dec. 17 patch, I've lost textures on FC maps.

That's cool I just stuck it in gameplay balance because the doubling of my latency definitely effects it.

Thanks

Just wanted to note that we are continuing to investigate the causes behind the increased latency and sudden server slowdowns.

I hope it is not as difficult as the "quest" for the old HUD bug... ^_^

Even with double the latency I honestly haven't noticed it impacting my performance as just last night I was able to ace lights on the fly using LPLs but regardless thank you for the reply and keep up the good work. Communication no matter how minimal is always appreciated despite how critical we can be as players/customers.

Just giving an update that the latency issue has been 90% corrected with lance mates reporting their pings returning to normal. I myself have noticed the double ping bug all but evaporated with latency issues being tied to certain server drops and not across the board like it has been since November. Now I'm curious if latency issues are due to someone using legal/illegal scrips causing that specific drop to lag everyone since I only noticed it happening during matches with certain repeat players but that could just be mild paranoia from what I hear about how goons conduct themselves.

Being the weekend I was able to play a solid 4 hours straight of non-stop drops and only had once instance where the server died (massive packet loss) and everything turned into a slide show last night, so that's still a major issue PGI needs to look into but keep up the good work. I'll give a final update after today's sessions.

Latency is still an issue over the weekend as mine jumped back up from the 35 to 85s with other clan mates noticing a doubling of their ping as well. It seems to all depend on which server I drop on for a particular match. Hopefully PGI is still working on the issue.

On a side note I didn't have any packet loss matches which is a good sign.
