Just dropped on assault map. Seem to be having problems targeting mechs with R. I'm guessing it's to do with the turrets. Can anyone else confirm this issue?

I'm curious about your issue. Is it that when your press 'R', Mechs are not being targeted? Let us know, thanks

Yeah when I press R it's not selecting a mech. Worked while I wasn't close to the turrets but then once I got close to turrets seems to be having problems.

Get a video of this issue, and then send a ticket to support describing the issue, along with your dxdiag. We'll investigate this ASAP.

I'm seeing the same - I see mechs with empty red triangles, and pressing R doesn't target them. (I haven't worked out whether it targets other things instead, or if it does nothing).

Have only noticed it on the maps with turrets.

Are you near enemy turrets or friendly ones?

I get the same problem. Sometimes pressing R doesn't target anything, sometimes it targets a mech on the other side of the map (and not closest to the reticule as it should be).

Same problem here...targeting doesn't seem to work properly near turrets. (In my case it was at the enemy base)

I am having trouble getting this issue. To clarify, targeting a defense turret will not bring up a paper doll, so it may be that you are locking onto the targeting indicator for the turret and expecting the data for the mech to appear.

If you can provide a screenshot or a video that would be helpful.

A screenshot isn't going to help here, and I don't have video facilities. But, let me see if I can do steps to reproduce.

* Join a match on a map with turrets.
* Look at an enemy mech that has an unfilled red triangle above it (it may need to be close to turrets, not sure. You may need to be Advance Zoomed in, not sure)
* Press R
- Note that the mech has not been targetted.

Are the enemy turrets still alive near you when this occurs?

Do you see the red dots on your compass jumping to a different target?

Unfortunately don't have the time to try keep dropping and maybe get a turret match tonight to video this. it may well have been highlighting the turrets, I wouldn't know as nothing shows, but my cross hair was on a mech and it should select that or have some indicator it's selecting a turret.

I can confirm this problem, it may have to do with locking onto an enemy turret. After locking to an enemy turret, I see no reticle box, but can lock missles, etc. After destroying a turret, I cannot lock onto enemy mechs (or turrets) because of the same issues, though I can still hear the 'lock on' noises and can fire lock on missles.

Also confirming this. Near enemy turrets I can be looking right at enemy mech with red empty triangle over his head, but I can't target him! Sorry for caveman grammar...on stupid phone.

I can confirm that this is an issue (but can not afford the time to try to get a video). I was within sight of enemy turrets, had both my rets over a hollow triangle enemy, pressed R, got verbal confirmation that I had locked to a new target, I believe that my missile ret closed, but I had no targeting box and the triangle remained open. I am 100% sure I saw this on River City (we were steam rolling so I was able to pay attention) I also think i saw it on Crimson Straight, but we were getting rolled in their turrets, so I may have been mistaken there.

Near enemy turrets. I made another thread on this as I missed it.

Tonight doing 4-mans this occurred on Crimson Strait near the enemy base (after we had killed several turrets with LRMs) first with a Firestarter; in a round a few games later, it occurred with a Battlemaster.

This was not an ECM issue. Target lock can STILL be obtained, as you can select it (with no UI feedback) and then hold the mouse on the target to lock it with missiles. However it won't show on radar, bring up the call letter, display the damage or highlight the target on radar for teammates.

When this happened it would happen universally for the entire lance/team for one specific 'mech each time.

I hope this helps.

Yep, this sounds precisely like what we encountered on Crimson Strait in 2 out of 3 games played on the map; it's possible it happened more than that and I just didn't see/notice it in the fight.

I too would guess it's turret related as it did in fact happen near enemy turrets in each game and never occurred on any map without them.

When it just happened to me we were on River City. You can mash R on any mech turret etc, you will see nothing but the unfilled triangle. You'll hear betty say 'target aquired', and you can lock on with streaks, however you will receive no targeting info

Thank you for the info pilots. I'll get a fix for it in ASAP when I can track it down. Along with Target designations being off.

It's worth noting that this happens near friendly turrets too, not just enemy ones. Happened to me and my 4-man group last night on both Crimson Strait and River City. None of us could target the affected mechs. Sorry I don't have a video.

To expand on A Tin Can's post (I was in his 4-man), we could 'target' a mech in the sense that the AI thought we had selected it, but there was no visual indication: no filled triangle and no highlighting on the compass.

In my case the mechs I couldn't target also didn't have letters above their heads, though those may be unrelated issues occurring simultaneously.

Earlier in the match, enemy mech designations had frequently switched (e.g. "M", then "L", then "J"). I saw designations up to "S".
