Something to think about, especially considering the shift to 3049 and the (assumed) restrictions of you being an Inner Sphere mercenary.

As far as I am aware, this is the full list of IS mechs as of 3050. Feel free to correct me if I missed any or if something is out of place.

2750:

3025: (this includes all of the Unseen)

3050: Perhaps you are noticing that your favorite Mech is nowhere on this list? If that is the case, I have this to say:

Welcome to 3049.

EDIT: Added the Devastator. Feel free to check out Sarna's BattleTech wiki if you want to snoop around: http://www.sarna.net...Sphere_%27Mechs

For some reason, they were mentioning the Devastator in the twitter updates?

"Wed. Oct 5, 3048: Marshal Harrison Bradford issued a personal thanks to Norse-Storm BattleMechs, Inc. for the receipt of a DVS-2 Devastator."

Might be we'll see it?

A good guess. Do Clan mechs fall under the 3050 TRO? I'm willing to bet MWO will have a Clan-invasion based expansion.

The Devastator was Windows Vista to the Mauler's Windows 7. I would not count on it unless they throw it in as a novelty.

Despite the fact it didn't hit a TRO til TRO3058, the Devastator was available Clan Invasion era so makes sense.

Flip side is that despite the name, many of the TRO3050 'Mechs didn't appear til 3052 either

Why, from the Wiki of course. http://www.sarna.net...Sphere_%27Mechs

Ah, you're right, that checks out. The Devastator was listed under Technical Readout 3058, but the Devastator's own page says it came into production by 3048... thanks a bunch, I'll add it to the list.

http://www.sarna.net/wiki/Devastator
"It was not until 3044 that a Devastator appeared that was constructed using the intended technologies (DVS-2); this version was finally put in production by 3048."

As long as I can run a DV-6M, ENF-4R (5D once the expansion hits), or a PXH-1D, I'll be happy.

The list is missing the long-lost Age of War 'Mechs from TRO 3075. There might be a few still running around after the Succession Wars....

Well, my BattleMaster BLR-1G is there. So. . . I'm happy. I just hope we can customize them whenever available. I want to get Agamemnon up to speed.

If even half that many make it in at launch well be off to a good start. Here's to hoping.

I doubt there'll be many of those 2750s mechs in at launch, since if they are rolling back to 3015, like the teaser trailer said they were, then most of those would be crazy rare outside of the (still secret at that point) Comguard. Only ones from that group I'd expect to see would be the Crab, King Crab, and Highlander.

Any and all of the 3025 ones could make it in, I wonder if the game being apparently heavily focused on urban combat will make the humble Urbie actually useful. Some of them might be left out as somewhat useless as well. The Firestarter and Vulcan as primarily anti-infantry platforms, and the much-maligned Charger (much as I would love to take the 1A1 into combat lol) for... well, being a charger.

A couple of the 2750s could make a comeback after launch if their first expansion is the War of '39, instead of the Clan invasion. At that point the Dracs got access to the Crockett, the Thug, and the Kintaro from Comstar, IIRC.

I'm thinking that some 'Mechs may or may not make the cut depending on where the gameplay goes. If infantry aren't modeled in the game, then specialty Battlemechs like the Vulcan or Firestarter may not be included (the same goes for A-Pod equipment). Similarly, if melee combat isn't a part of the game, then we can probably say goodbye to the Hatchetman and Axman.

The Devastator is a beast that would probably unbalance the game. 2 Gauss Rifles + 2 PPCs + 18.5 tons of armor is way more powerful than anything else in 3050. If it is in the game from the beginning it is going to be darn hard to get a hold of.

A couple other 'mechs worth noting that were available in the pre-3050 era, but are often forgotten:

Chameleon
Merlin

Of course, including the (House/Periphery) Age of War designs recently published would also be a wise decision, especially assuming the unseen have been pulled from the franchise (The Hammerhands and Battleaxe should make adequate heavy Warhammer replacements, and many other designs would make great additions to the lineup)

With the 1 day = 1 day...and Aug 1 2012 = Aug 1 3049...

They have until...
May 1st, 2015 to get a batch of the 2750 mechs in the game. (Tukayyid starts: May 1st 3052)

If we get playable clan factions Tukayyid will never happen, Focht lured us there pretending to fight as we did and then used traps of all sorts to end us. Though he is a good commander of soldiers he is no honorable warrior.

You have to love the THUG. Nothing like shooting a clanner out from under their shiny mechs with durable IS tech. Good mech list.
