Hi all!

I am very confused why i cant buy just 25%, 50% or 75% of an ammunition.

At this time, you can buy just XYZ Ammunition for 1 Ton.

So you have 0,25 Tons and 1 slot left on your mech, but you want to buy just a bit more ammo, you cant do this yet, and this is bad!

So, here is my suggestion about this problem.

Each ammunition packet you get, need one slot!

100% ammunition = 1 Ton
75% ammunition = 0,75 Tons
50% ammunition = 0,50 Tons
25% ammunition = 0,25 Tons

Example:
AMS Ammo

1000 bullets = 1 Ton
750 bullets = 0,75 Tons
500 bullets = 0,50 Tons
250 bullets = 0,25 Tons

AC 20 ammo is just a bit tricky.
100% = 7 rounds
75% = 5 rounds
50% = 3 rounds
25% = 1 round

There isn't an option here for "Yes, but certain ammunition only." So I voted Yes.

In particular, I'd like Machine Gun and AMS ammo to be available in 1/2 ton amounts, but nothing else.

Machine Gun ammo could be used in 1/2 ton amounts in TT, and letting AMS carry 1/2 ton of ammo would allow us to have an AMS and 500 rounds for 1 ton, a nice even number, since currently my biggest pet peeve with customization is having a leftover half ton and no way to use it (unless armor isn't maxed).

Or you could;
  • add 0,25 tons more armour
  • remove 0,75 tons of armour and add a full ton of ammunition
  • remove 0,75 tons of armour and add a heatsink/larger engine/1 ton of weapon
  • remove 0,25 tons of armour and add a c.a.s.e.
  • find a different solution with the possibilities of the game and universe as outlined in Sarna

I think this is not needed and a waste of programming resources better used elsewhere.

Sounds like a good and fairly simple thing to code. Would certainly help on those builds where I have armor maxed out and all the stuff I want in the mech, but have less than 1 Ton of mass available.

I don't think I'd buy any percentage of AMS or AC/20 at the cost of one critical space. Percentages should probably be added onto an already existing ammo critical, up to 50%. Just add another ton of ammo if you want to add 75%.

Personally I wouldn't support this, as it doesn't make a whole lot of sense in the construction of a mech (then again, ghost heat is completely baffling to me).

What we DO need is an "Ammo dump" button, that way if I'm in battle and I've got a lot of ammo left in a location that is about to be blow off - I can hit the ammo dump button so I can eject the ammo and not worry about an ammo explosion instead.

No.

Only MG ammo could do this in TT. It was sold in half-ton or full-ton amounts.

There are no .25 or .75 tonnages in MW:O.

The result isn't worth the complexity of adding it to the game.

We should be able to buy 0.5t ammo. The rest is futile.

Todesklinge, you already stated what you want in the opening post. There is no need to constantly post oneliners to repeat where you stand on this topic.
