One of our newer members, Lance Corporal BillBrooks, joined the MarineMechs a little over a month ago. He was a solo player, looking to join a group so he could have fun and improve his playing. He recently posted this match on our threads as part of our accolades system, recording nearly 1450 damage in a match, and is now 2/3rds of the way towards obtaining an "Ace" status among the MarineMechs.

o7 Marine Mechs. How are you all liking the Thunderbird 9S, have you all decided if it is a keepers or not. I'm hearing both, and I haven't played mine enough or put a build on it I like yet, to determine that myself. Just curious.

I think its a decent mech- not great, not bad either. It's not my favorite, but I'm a poor soldier with only a few mechs so I'm hanging on to every one I've got, including the thunderbolt.

I'm running it with an ER PPC for long range, then 4 med. lasers, srm-6, and 2 machine guns (which I just haven't figured out what to replace them with yet) for close range. I like having the PPC in the arm, but I feel like having machine guns in the other arm is a waste (I may dual wield AMS instead). One of the torso mounts is nice and high, the other is frustratingly low.

Oh and as an Atlas driver by trade, I like how it feels like it's faster than it really is.
