Banshee BNC-3E

The Banshee 3E. This 95-ton avatar of death not only brings the ballistics, but does so with a pair of shades and a smile on his face. This is one assault ‘Mech that knows what its job is and loves every moment of it.

The cost of such a monster? Well, the 3E is going to set you back about 8.5 Million c-bills and its worth every bit of that ComStar cash.

The Banshee 3E can be found in the stables of almost every military faction in the Inner Sphere and for good reason. At 95 tons this assault BattleMech mounts a standard 380 engine, allowing for a top run speed of 64.8 kph. Not only that, for those major gear heads that like to tinker with their ‘Mechs, I hear that some crazy ‘Mechjock managed to fit a standard 400 in there somehow. If range of motion is something you're looking for in a 'Mech, you'll be happy to hear that the torso can swing a full 90º laterally left or right and 20º vertically. Like to get those arms moving? Try 20º lateral and 30º vertical.

At the end of the day, though, it all comes down to payload. The standard loadout for the Banshee 3E is one small laser in the head, one AC/5 mounted to the left torso, and one PPC in the right torso. If that's not your style, there's plenty of space for all you weapon enthusiasts. If you really wanted to, you could rig up to 4 ballistics into the left torso, 3 energy in the right torso, and an AMS unit in the centre torso and still get to keep that head laser. Heck if you are anything like me you are already thinking up a hundred and one ways to rig her up for combat.

Banshee BNC-3M

Listen up, pilot, this is important. Today, a new 'Mech will be assigned to your lance for this mission, the Banshee BNC-3M. We know you have trained with assault 'Mechs, so you are going to be her new pilot. I want to take a moment with you to do a technical review before the rest of the team arrives for the briefing.

Your new rig weighs in at 95 tons. Assuming the enemy doesn't have an Atlas hidden away somewhere, this is going to make you one of the heaviest 'Mechs on the battlefield. As such, that's going to make you this lance's new anchor, pilot, and you'll need to know what it's capable of. Currently, it is equipped with a 380 standard, though we may have a 400 sitting in the hangar that you can requisition, if you can convince the techs to work their magic on it. Because of this your maximum speed will be 68.4 kph, though with 480 points of standard armor it's nothing to worry about. You will be able to take some damage--and with those two PPCs, you'll throw it right back at them. If something wanders a little too close, you'll have two medium lasers to complement those PPCs. Finally, the head mounted small laser will be there to help you out in a tight spot or to teach enemy infantry a lesson.

We've got some time left before your drop, so if you want to make any modifications, make sure you get the techs started right away. The master tech informed that this we have the parts to mount a maximum of one energy weapon in the head, 3 in the left torso, 4 in the right, and AMS in the center torso before we put too much strain on the fusion reactor.

One last thing, pilot. This acquisition set us back 8.9 million C-bills. Don't make me regret putting you in that cockpit.

You guys know that you can buy them with MC for at least a week, don't you? You guys know that smurfy has had these mechs up and active for two weeks, don't you? Been playing around with load outs since the last patch.

Looks rather nice so far. Makes me wonder where the other tabs on the side went.

Edit: Having the left side on the right and the right side on the left is a little disorienting, though I suppose it makes sense as you are viewing the mech as a mirror image from the front (the mech's left side is on my right etc.) :D

Cattra Kell is part of the No Guts No Galaxy crew, and by extension that makes them part of the PGI staff. He is just doing his job posting the stats a few days ahead of the final release of the mech.

Most players probably care more about the C-bill release than the MC release, or the hero mech that comes out first.

Besides, I think the real detail worth looking at here is the GUI changes, the infamous "smurfy" style mech editor.

Nothing is said on how much the 3S variant is. Any idea on the cost of the 3S variant?
