Essentially a stat on your page that factors in your Kills AND Assits against Deaths.

After all, straight K/D Ratio alone does not tell me much about the player, whether they are risk takers, or just not really good team players and are there just to farm kills. If we compare to other Free to Play titles, such as PlanetSide 2, they keep track of these infos and you can determine more importantly how effective of a team player they are if Assists were factored in. For example:

I could go on about K/D ratios alone and this became a subject of a pcgamer article in PS2 back in early '13:

Hopefully this can be factored into your stat page and I believe a worthwhile additional stat for the players to browse over and critique their performance.

I would go further and say we should create a completely new stat. Factor in Kills, Assists, maybe things like spotting and capping, then throw in if you won or not. Call the whole thing "Mech Efficiency Rating" or somesuch.

Granted, most of the newer games are providing additional stats beyond k/d and the game already tracks assists for achievements. I just wanted to post something I believe to be something straight forward and simple to do to provide players a better measuring stick and flesh out the stats a bit, one step at a time.

I think they should add all tracked stats to our page: Assists, Component Destruction, Spotting, NARC/TAG, Saviour Kills, etc... The combination of these would paint a more complete picture (while leaving players free to compute more complex statistics).

Good suggestions overall. Most of the flat statistics should be there since we know the game credits the player anyway from completing them. The more the merrier.

I think the standard K/D ratio is a fairly meek statistic to be displayed for the user in a game like this. Most people don't exhibit strong K/D ratios for this as it's a duration based combat system, you're not normally dropping people in half a second or less showing a superior reaction time. And not all mechs are truly created equally - you put a Locust against the Cicada and the Cicada will almost always win. It's not always about the size of the mech or speed, or armor, but those certainly contribute.

Additional scoring could also be added that supports more team play like 'Joint-Strike' for hitting the same target as an ally within "x" period of time.

I want to sign this thread, because I agree with guys that all trackable stats such as Assists, Damage, Spottings, Component Destructions must be seen in our stat pages. Further proceeding from these data it is possible to make various relative indicators such as K+A/D and so on.

but what do assist really tell, when i cored 3 people until dark red and other kill them, I get three assists, when I scratched 12 people with 1 damage I have 12 assists. which may be more worth?

But in a team oriented game, individual kills mean very little especially when people view the K/D ratio is the most valuable stat after too much standard FPS play.

Honestly I'd be in favor of getting rid of the stat entirely but I could see the uproar associated with that. Just track the damage done and enemies engaged, whether you get a kill or not isn't a direct reflection of your performance. Damage and targets engaged with that damage is far more reflective of the individual participation and whether or not you have done well to help the team.
