I dusted off my Flame 4 LL the other day. Usual style of shooting would be the Alpha strike backstab and then run.
Even in instances where my hit rate is 100% in core distance, the actual damage caused by the strike is around 20, not 36. Allowing around 10% for hit reg swallowing stuff, that is a disparity of around 12 points, or almost one standard deviation.
I had similar results with ML on a Jenner in a test over 32 games some while ago, where results could not possibly be called "normal". Hayashi at the time had similar complaints as a high ping player. My reply should still be extant, if the thread by Hayashi has not been archived in the meanwhile.
My ping, from 270 ms in closed beta, is now minimum 310 with witnessed spikes of more than 400. Only to PGI, I might add. Test sites estimate my jitter to be around 10 per cent in all tests I have run. Including a site in canada. This means usually I should not go over a ping of 340. This is not the case.BTW packet loss is 0%, so it is not that
Mech collect shows laser damage as consistently around 5 per hit, and not 9. Even when my average hit rate is 70% plus.
So .... can you guys at PGI tell me what gives? Is this an artifact of the way laser damage is handled and/or calculated, or are lasers really THAT bad by now. And you guys wonder why players who love winning abuse the bejeesus out of AC's.
Yours in annoyance,
Hammerhai
