It is a weird thing: when I'm ingame and write in the side or lance channel I can do so until I write the latter "a". As soon as I do so, all the text written before disappears. Also, the "a" is white as if I write in the main chat (for both sides). impossible to communicate to my fellow pugers this way obviously. No issues with the main chat. Does anyone else have this weird bug? Any workaround?

Not sure about workarounds, but have you also submitted a support ticket with a DXDiag and Omicron log attached?
Good luck with resolution.

I used to get this exact problem after the notorious screen-freezing bug (which I haven't suffered from since last year).

Every time, after alt-tabbing to get the game rendering again, typing the letter 'a' in any of the chat channels would immediately wipe the text buffer. Any text entered after this wipe would contain whatever was previously in the buffer, concatenated with the text entered afterwards.

so, if I understand you right, alt-tabbing caused the problem in your case? and when I ignore the wipe of the text and instead just continue writing it would eventually send all the text I intended to write? Or did I get this wrong?

Give it a try?
Type a message with the error, and then finish it and press enter. If the whole message comes out, then it's an appearance bug. If only what is shown comes out, then it something else.

yes of course I give it a try. Just wasn't sure I understood him right.Actually, the "a" was working now and I couldn't get it to wipe the text even after alt-tabbing :/

the bug was gone for a few days, I could not reproduce it by alt-tabbing or something. but now its back. when I write in the team chat and hit the letter "a" and then ENTER (like "test a ENTER" it would send "test a" in the team chat. If I continue to type without the ENTER like "test a xyz" it would send only "xyz". I have it on video if you need it.
I got a i3 3240, HD7850, 8 GB RAM, win 8.1 x64. MWO repair tool didn't help.

Send this data, with the video and a description of your problem, to support. They might be able to help you out. Certainly far more than we on the forums can.

If you really want to give it a try, you could uninstall the whole program and reinstall. Sometimes that has been known to correct issues. However, it does take a long time... It's up to you if you wish to give this a try, or to just live with it till Support gets back to you.
