EDIT: Woops, I got too excited, someone already posted this and I didn't check. <.<;

Looks like someone updated the clan page in error, either that or they gave up on announcements. They're showing the Direwolf and put up the gold versions of both Nova and Direwolf in the gold section. Coincidentally there's apparently less than 5 TWs left, and under 50 of the Warhawk, Direwolf, Summoner, and Stormcrow now too.

I sincerely doubt that 45 Golden Mad Cats actually sold between the time they first set the arbitrary cap, and the time they updated the sale page.

Also, the Daishi's nose is way too ovular.

That's just because your brain doesn't want to believe that there are that many people out there that would spend $500 on a Gold mech. Don't worry, though, my brain is right there with yours :D

Well now, that just makes me even happier I stopped giving PGI money. "Dire" isn't exactly what springs to mind looking at that thing.

I think we need to accept that there are a lot of casual players who don't bother with the forums much, and just want to play, enjoy, and support this game.
The noisy minority can have their own agenda, but many people just aren't bothered.

I spent $500 on the Timberwolf and was going to also get a Gold Dire Wolf until they announced they don't care about groups. That said I agree that there is no way that many people bought all those gold mechs. We will never know and I know a few who bought gold mechs and asked for a refund. Did those go back into the pool of "LIMITED" digital items or not? We don't know...

Tin Foil hat is on for me.

I tweeted Russ, Niko, and Bryan about not announcing it.

I feel like it just might look so squat and weird because of the difference in perspective.

We're gonna be getting in game screenshots too if the trend holds up so no point discussing it until then.

The difference is that the Puma is sexy. The Daishi is not.

Would be interesting to see what their response is.

Legs, good. Arms, great. Winnebago canopy fine. Central torso pod, very strangely ovoid. Does not neccesarily contradict the concept art, since we are seeing a new angle, but it seems very weird overall. The top curve seems to "pinch" too much, giving it some weird slopes where one would expect a simply tapering cone with a round cross-section.

I don't think the camera angle for that picture is doing the Dire Wolf any favors. As is, I'd take this over both the MW3 and MW4 versions.

I think its most likely a perspective issue, like the perception that the Timberwolf legs were too huge because of the angle the shot was from.
