Beyond the BT lore, we have been conditioned by other outside sources...other genetically engineered/cloned soldiers were represented by the Stormtroopers in the Star Wars saga who worked for the bad guys, the cloned/engineered Borg were the bad guys in the Star Trek series, and culturally, the Clans have more in common with communist/socialist forms of government instead of more democratic forms, and the FRR has the most democratic form of government compared to all other factions.

But ultimately the FRR helps the Bears "go native" and the Bears and Space Vikings find a way to accept each other and become Space Viking Bears and meld and merge the best of their two cultures (democracy, mead, mechs, comradeship, trials) to become a force to be recognized. It starts to happens in 3060, by 3070 (Jihad) they were having tea parties and sharing recipes. Wasn't completely smooth but nothing really is.
