They really don't know what an average player needs. For example, until recently we couldn't easily swap modules between mechs.

What magic is this? Please explain how this can be done. :P

Trial mechs should be removed for anyone who has ever made over a $20 purchase or something. That would be nice.

They are a way for PGI to make money off of new players, and I don't see them going anywhere if you haven't spent a penny on the game.

In either the group menu or the home screen, click "Mech Select". This will bring up a list of 'Mechs like in the private matches. You can click through the 'Mechs and see a quick summary of them - which includes the modules they are using! Not only is it a quicker way to find where modules are, but there is a button to modify the consumables, which will allow you to add and remove modules from the selected 'Mech.

I've completely stopped using the Mechlab to select 'Mechs and swap out modules, and now use this. Only reason to go into the Mechlab is to modify a 'Mech's load out, camo, or cockpit.

I've spent more than $20 and when leveling up a new chassis, I'll use the trial 'Mech of that chassis. It's a good way to save up XP on that variant until you have the C-bills to buy it. For instance, I bought an Ilya and ran the trial Cataphract to build up XP in that variant. When I had the spare C-bills to buy the non-champion version of the trial Cataphract, I had enough XP built up in it to unlock all the basic skills in it.

More people vote please! 292 votes is small apples in regards of the Community as a whole... I know many, many more folks would vote YES for this :D

I voted no, instead of dont care. The Trial Mechs dont bother me, but removing them is a bad idea. Why? Newer players may be enticed to buying one. And while that probably doesnt affect most of you, removing them so that they arent seen (and ultimately purchased) affects the GAME. PGI relies on MC purchases to fund, fuel and feed the game. They shouldnt remove a form of in game advertising because people cant dont want to scroll past some icons on a monitor.

Thats my story, and Im sticking to it.

I'm not good with statistics so can someone clarify this for me please.

Does 366:1 mean the community would like this feature to be implemented?

Edited: 314 increased to 366

I have to agree. This "trial mech"-thing is pretty annoying.

Would be awesome to have an option to turn the displayed trial mechs off.

While i do understand that those are shown per default for new players, these are extremely disruptive for veterans.

Most veterans decide to buy a mech on their own and don't buy it, because they see it there.

To be fair I didn’t read all of the individual posts, so someone may have said this already. All that needs to be done (at least in MechLab) is to confine the trail Mechs to the “Trial” button on the left of the screen. The All, Light, Medium, Heavy, Assault, Champion, and Hero buttons should be for “Owened Mechs Only” That way, when and if a player wants to try out a “Trial” Mech he can pick one from that button.

Happy Hunting

Keeping them on a separate tab as pre UI2 would be enough.

Bumping my earlier post, I think only players who've bought MC should have them removed.

That wouldn't be so bad, would it PGI?

We've only been asking for this since the introduction of UI2

GUI just isn't PGI's strong point.
