The Centurion overall isnt a very good mech is it?

I am messing with it on an Alt account and in Smurfy and it just seems slow and kinda undergunned.

I am running its stock config with a few alterations.

This is the final loadout I have put together in Smurfy

Upgrade the engine to STD 225, ditch a DHS, lose a half-ton of AMS ammo and a ton of SRM ammo, switch to FF armor. Decent boost in speed and thus should improve your survivability a bnch.

How about:

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...013b6c3924c3b87

SRM6+Artemis and Medium Lasers to open armor and MG for crit seeking. Not super fast so use it more as an ambusher than a brawler.

Or drop the Artemis and go:

Though somebody will probably come along and correctly point out the the Griffin can do this better.

How about an LB10x?

You can even drop a ton of SRM ammo and switch to an AC10 instead of the LB10X.

The main thing you need to get the centy to work, is proper torso twisting. Without it, the mech is really unimpressive.

My fav mech is a Cent. They are all about positioning and torso twisting. Use the shield! You need to run a max engine in them any more since every mech in this game is fast.
I made a few big changes, get that 275xl in there!
CN9-A

Here is how I run mine.

I have to excellent variants of CN9-A !

*Improved stock config

You can use this almost stock configuration and fight like in books, using all weapons. You will earn great atmospheric satisfaction. This config likes big distance with decent DPM firepower. But caught in brawling you will be pretty undamaged compared to srm carrier CN9_A + use torso twisting.

Ultimate SRM brawler

All for abusing torso twisting.
MPL instead of ML and SRM6 instead of SRM4 to rarely and shortly as possible show CT to the enemy for the shoot!
Just be wise about engagement! Dont poke multiple enemies at all - w8 for them and gangbang at home.
Dont show yourself at distances more than 300m, you dont need it as sniper dont need close range fighting.
But you can pwn almost any mech 1 vs 1 except heavy brawlers like orions and victors. If you are SURE that he is alone - just run around and show only your side!
