I don't know about anyone else but in the last few days I have come to the conclusion that some players are using a damage cheat. The best example I can give is having a Highlander with 82 front center armor taken out in a single shot. While the total of every weapon on the "damage" list doesn't even total 50 damage. I know this sounds like whining but I've been playing this game for over 6 months and previously have not seen anything like this occurring. In the last 3 days I'm losing mechs left and right to single shot kills that are just not possible. Am I the only one seeing this (I know I can't be) More importantly can anything be done about it?

Headshots might be the culprit.
Additionally, I've noticed lately that a lot of weapons/mechs are registering their damage on the opposite side of the mech than where it actually hit. Basically, sometimes when you shoot the front it hits the back, and sometimes a back shot hits the front. I've killed a few people this way and been killed a few times this way. I haven't done any scientific testing on it, though...

With clan mechs came an increase in range. You're probably getting shot by mechs outside your vision, and if you're playing in in a group they're probably coordinating shots, hence why it seems so sudden.

If you get shot by 2 PPC and 2 Gauss, it will only say "damaged by PPC"and "Damaged by gauss". It doesn't say how many. Same for all weapons, I have mechs with an alpha higher than 82, and it's not uncommon for multiple mechs to focus fire on a large ,slower target like a Highlander.
