That should work well, Catapults are rather XL friendly with their hit box setup, agility and torso twist.

And that is a very versatile engine to keep once you get one.

Here's a build with an XL 300.

As mentioned, Cats are XL friendly. By the time your enemy is close enough to shoot your side torsos, you might as well be dead anyway.

If the xl300 engine doesn't work out ], they're still good to have.

Would you like a build alternative?

Also, have you seen Smurfy's Mechlab yet? That's what I linked earlier.

Yes, and yes.

Catapult is good for XL engines. The XL300 is a good engine to get.

I'd suggest different build - LBX and ML spread damage and lack the range you need on many maps.
maybe 4xML, 2 AC10s?
or 2xAC5, 2xLL?
or 1xgauss, 2xPPC?

Ah,ShredderCat K2,one of my most liked mechs...:)

However, for that particular build i suggest drop the engine to 280XL and MPL to ordinary ML,then add 3 heatsinks keeping 5t of ammo. It's not fun to constantly overheat or not be able to use full potential of the armament in the center of fight.

If you insist to have 300XL then 2xUAC5(6t) 4xML is the way to go.
