Actually ~1k is a workable budget, if you're willing to have some flexibility there.

For just about your budget, Sager has this notebook: http://sagernotebook...del_name=NP6658

Take the offer for the $35 CPU upgrade, and you have a damn nice machine for just about on your budget.

If you were willing to spend $80 more, you'd could get this machine though: http://sagernotebook...del_name=NP7358

I think you'd be a fair bit happier with it for that minimal increase, but if it's not realistic then it's not realistic. I understand.

They're both substantially better, especially for what you're looking for, than the machines I'm seeing on Newegg in that price range, but that's to be expected. Sager laptops are always kickass on both price and performance.

Edit: MAKE SURE if you order from Sager you select the 8GB Dual Channel option.

This is a much more powerful gaming laptop http://www.newegg.co...N82E16834233038 The Nvidia 850m is roughly four times faster than the HD 4600.

Good advice all around, but a quick google search seems to indicate that Sager's reputation is... mixed.

As in, a mix of reviews on the extremes:

"SAGER IS THE BEST COMPANY EVER! THEY PAID TO FLY OUT A DOCTOR TO GIVE MY GRANDMOTHER OPEN HEART SURGERY!"

&

"Sager is the spawn of Satan. If there is pure evil in this world, it's name is Sager".

o_O.

There's always going to be negative people out there, and it's no secret that one of the failings of Internet reviews is that bad experiences get reported far more often than good ones.

Sager's customer support is certainly no worse than that of a typical major company, including any other laptop seller out there. That's why the whole point is to buy well-made machines so you don't have to deal with them in the first place.

If you can find them cheaper than i can in the US i recommend the Asus RoG laptops.
i brought one similar to this http://www.amazon.co...SUS+ROG+G750JS-

Difference being mine came with 2 WD 750 GB Black 7200RPM drives.

Plays everything i throw at it.

Anyone got this game running reasonably well (without hideously low FPS- any settings) using a NVIDIA GT 840M [2GB]?

Wait, is this accurate?

Is there an official Dell Outlet in the US?
If so consider the Latitude E6540 in the Business section. In the UK Outlet £600 ex VAT gets an i5-4300M/i5-4310M 2.7GHz, AMD Radeon HD 8790M, SSD and separate numpad.
They are not small but robust and powerfull for the cash. Oh and being Business they often have 3yr NBD warranty which is amusing.

Stock changes daily and keep a close eye on specs as every machine will be different.

...

Just checked http://www.dell.com/...728&lid=4691847

Looks like $1100 for the machine I suggested. No idea how US sales tax works so that might not be the final price.

A 740M shouldn't have problems playing the game on low settings at least. It's not ideal, but I would think it'd be acceptable. I think the far bigger concern would be what CPU it was paired with.

i think my amd hd7770oc counts as a r7 250 if that helps you guage where the 260 is

my cpu is the fx8350 at 4ghz stock and i get 50-60 fps, battle dips to 30-35 mostly on low and medium setting at 1280 800ish with vsync on

SLI 750m! Might not be a bad choice when they get SLI fixed up in this game

I can say that personally they have responded to me quickly and have been quite helpful.

Just me though, I'm a likable guy, what can I say :P
