And that is how the Invasion is meant to play out. So we spheroids need to shore up our shooting skills if we want to change the "Inevitable" outcome.

So wrong. Clans and IS both have strengths and weaknesses and there is no such thing as "equal players". I have seems teams of Clans get rolled by IS and vice versa.

Noobs getting utterly crushed by 60$ mechs all day sure makes for a healthy playerbase.
I'm sure they storm the clan-shop just in this moment.
Was that $60 clan mechs or $60 IS mechs, please clarify. Money does not buy you skill.

Wrong, a bad timber will do better than any bad IS heavy.
Let me sum up everything that will follow in this thread

Keep 'em separated. I'm loving the hell out of it. All the new players that are using trial mechs are on the IS side. Let the other freeborns carry them. I'm digging this. I'm raking in the cbills.

I should be able to take a locust with a single machine gun and solo the entire enemy team, otherwise I'm bad. Since weapon range and damage doesn't decide who wins or loses.

Hyperbole much? Those clan mechs with "twice as many weapons and twice the range" also generate much more heat, move slower on average, are less maneuverable on average and have access to less pinpoint damage weapons and have longer beam duration on all lasers. You need to learn to leverage the strengths of your mech vs the weaknesses of the enemy mech.
Also, a Locust should be scouting, spotting and capping, not engaging in drawn out firefights.
Just make an "easy queue" for new an low ELO players and an "advanced queue".
