Because you can't use 6 of those slots due to ghost heat anyway. Also, 10 v 12 coming.

The better question is why take this over most I.S. light mechs.

It's weird, there seems to be some kind of discrepancy on the german forum itself. The description/intro for the mech says 2 missile hardpoints, but the actual hard point description says 1.

"Er verfügt über 3 Energie-Hardpoints, 2 Raketenschächte" => 3 energie hardpoints and 2 rocket shaft (i.e missiles).

It makes me wonder why they bothered including this as an option over the Black Jack. Everything about this mech just looks useless (I know about the capellan thing btw)

er? Hope so. Gridiron demonstrated how useless a single Missile Slot tends to be. After the Arrow, this has jack crap for hardpoints though.

Granted, this vindi has NO DHS, NO Endo, and a STD engine. Once I can pack an XL, Endo, and DHS into this thing, I think it'll probably be cool. But the stock Hero variant just seems so underwhelming.

I can fire 6 laser and wait for 1 secs and fire another load of 6 lasers and don't get any toasty ghosty.

Sarna doesn't have this variant with 2 missile hardpoints. And even if it did, why take it over the Trebuchet?

base BJ before upgrades is pretty bad, too. If this sticks to a single Missile, it is...not good. If the German Notes are right, and it gets 2 Missile hardpoints, that is already something the BJ won't match.

Corrected. It gets 2 missile hard points, down broken down from 3 to 2.

Personally? I'm not a big fan of the vanilla treatment they gave the Vindicator over all their other mechs. Its pretty much not a very viable choice compared to most other things.

But 1 energy in L/R arm and 1 head, plus 1 missile in left torso? That sounds awful, and then the -5% heat generation for both weapon types. The vindicator was mainly an energy mech and I would have much rather seen the energy heat generation at -7.5% or -10% even in the missile quirk was dropped. Possibly even a second energy slot (since this is the hero after all) in the left arm (non-ppc arm). Also -5% does not seem useful for this energy heavy mech (especially once it has a PPC) and will leave it unused and collecting cobwebs in favor of a blackjack who has the superior engine, hardpoints, high arms, great torso twist, etc.

This is the sort of thing people said about the Griffin before it was launched. The fact is that the Vindicator will have Griffin-like torso and arm arcs, which will greatly increase its survivability in skilled hands.
