O7

God bless those that did their duty on this day and paid the ultimate price to save those that they could.

I was just coming back with the thought of trying to change the thought over toward the heroes who kept that day from being worse.

Thank you Pht.

For the fallen
For the dead
For those who have lost
For those who cannot speak
For those who cannot laugh
For the hero's who rushed into harms way
For the innocent lives who did nothing wrong yet perished
THIS DAY WILL BE REMBERED

My brother as well, though he had been planning on it since seeing Disney's Happiest Millionaire when he was little.

I can understand why people don't like the police, SW, but remember this - some of them were among those running in to actually help.

Folks, while I realize this is a sensitive subject, please leave the politics/religion comments on other venues where they are more appropriate.

Good hunting.

Wow. I guess it doesn't matter if the comments are entirely approrpriate and directly on-topic. Non-neutral Secularism FTW... or did someone else decide to start a flame war? I can't tell - the google cache doesn't have this thread and the forum robots.txt kicks wayback machine to the curb.

Sad either way in a thread commerating how we survived and overcame the consequences of massive irrational intolerance.

*Reminder to self, save pages when daring, even politely, to be diverse in thought and opinion.*

I agree with you Pht,
There was no flamewar or something of the like. There were a few pics that were verry unappropriate but they were removed quite quickly by Egomane doing a mods job, some time after that an American mod (so, possibly not neutral on the subject) could not see what the talk was about removed everything not saying something like 'God bless USA'. After that he made a statement conflicting with what the origin for the thread was all about (you can't say 9/11 has nothing to do with politics/religion). The comments were not deeply religious or politically colored posts. And even if it was with a strong flavor, the thread is in offtopic discussions...

There is a line in how far you can go (even with free speech), but no way it was crossed by most of the posts that were removed. Egomane didn't see a problem with the comments that were removed after his visit.

I know it's not done to discuss mod activity, but I had to state this.

btw, I got modded once before ~1,5 years ago and at least then I got a PM from the mod telling me why.
