I'm an old school I76'er, ran with the R66 and made it to the 4th place in the AVA combat ladder. If any of this makes any sense to you, great! If not... Interstate 76 was a game based on the Mechwarrior 2 engine. The first teaser trailer about the game was found on MW2's CD.

It was a mechanical combat game, not much unlike Mechwarrior, but instead of stompy mechs we ran muscle cars, all tricked out with machine guns and rockets. I dare to say that even by todays standards it featured a top notch physics engine, destructable objcects and awesome customizaton, not to mention the awesome setting and sountrack.

While it had a few copycats during it's best days, the game was and still is quite unique. It had a single player campaign, but expanded with a online PvP mode that spawned an awesome community.

PGI, Forget Transverse, forget copying things to come. Do somehing unique, do a remake of the best damn game ever made. You should do Interstate 76 Online!

Radbane, with PGI acting like they have the worst case of ADD in history, do you really want to wave another title under their noses? Let's keep them pointed toward the thing they're supposed to be working on.

*steers PGI gently back toward MWO*

Don't know about PGI doing it, but I would love to see a I76 remake and online incarnation.

They had a game that was exactly what you're asking for but it went under. I forgot the name of it.

For those that don't know, I76 (Or Interstate 76), was essentially a disco themed mad max in the US. You could customize vehicles in all kinds of ways with all kinds of weapons and armor. Super charged engines, spikey wheels, etc. It was actually pretty fun.

For those that don't know, the 76 is the year it takes place.

A buddy had a copy of I76... when i use to visit his place the only way you'd dislodge me from that game was with dynamite.

Tons of fun.

One of my favorite games of all time. I always thought the carwars/autoduel concept would catch on, but it never did.

Ahh yes, I remember playing the old Steve jackson game "CAR WARS" the game that made me want to try out I76 in the first place. Loved I76.

I would love to see what, with todays game engines, I76 would be like.
