I don't envy the person or people that would be organising the raw amount of solid ideas that any sort of gathering of people produce. Let alone the amount of dedication to make it right so many have. So many factors unthought of, pursuing a willingness to compromise and understanding that all would be discussed, debated and redone. A Council meeting of sorts would be great, I fear though some are discounting its complexity, and how consistent it would need to be to work.

The nomination's that I have seen or nominate myself.

Competitive Player Council Members; Heimdelight, JagerXII, KaffeAngst, Adiuvo, and either TheMagician or Siriothrax

Community Player Council Members; Egomane, Homeless Bill, Koniving, Heffay, theB33f (I lol), Chronojam, RebasKradd, Bishop Steiner, Carrioncrows, Serious_Table (that is if you won't be too crazy this time), and possibly Sandpit or Roadbeer

Science Officers; Kiiyor, Smurfy, and Li Song

Various other Player Council Members; Livewyr, TopDawg, IraqiWalker, Roland, Saxie, MechwarriorBuddah, 151st Light Horse, DocBach, MischiefSC, Stalkerr, Andersbot, Redshift2k5, Jman5 and other nominated candidates.

Whats the reasoning behind different councils/groups?

Seems to me the player base could propose ideas and vote on the best ones then have that promoted up the chain. Whether that happens in reddit threads or on a sub forum on MWO remains to be seen. There's a lot of knowledge here (I started with Net Mech for DOS myself) so there should be some good proposals in the mix.

There is nothing wrong with it. Leave it alone. Stop changing things.

You can tell it is fine, by 3+ threads exploding.

Because some individuals have contributed in specific ways more than any other venue.

One of the Stock Mech Monday guys like TigerLilly or Raythe or whomever else is helping run that. Represents the organized and lore/TT fan side of things. I'd let them pick someone to be their rep.

Tygerlilly or Raythe would also be good choices if they're interested. And that's spoken as someone who does disagree with Raythe's ideas as often as not. His ideas are clearly voiced and usually backed by logic.

In theory this is a good idea. I haven't been here long enough to say who should be on it. This I will say if this happens I guarantee there will be people who will not be happy, 2 reasons 1. there are those who are never happy about anything & 2. they're not on the council.

No self esteem issues here! :P

NOPE not a single one.
Yeah...I am just that cool.

Problem over all with this is the lack of people that go to the forums. What I had thought about it just get several of the most active teams put forward some one to be on the council. Both comp teams and casual teams. And then have the solo players ellect a couple of people.

Here is my vote. I think he would do a good job of thinking about the logical outcomes of any changes proposed.
Vote: --> Siriothrax <--

Something that came up in the starter thread is that it would be great if PGI would implement a tool inside the game to throw up votes on ideas for the active player base. Star Conflict does this and huge numbers of players respond because you get a small in game cash reward for doing participating.

I really don't like the idea of a player council they never work well and end bad. But if there is one person on this forum I would trust with 3 years playing MWO solo and group 20+ years Knowledge and experience in PC MechWarrior and BattleTech plus TT and has game modding experience as well it would be this player. If PGI would let this guy help redesign MWO for the players and fans it would be a fantastic game. I have known him for 15+ years played on the same MechWarrior teams and he was always fair honest and upright with all who knew him.

My vote is for = KingCobra

Spoken like the truly competent person you are; who also obviously knows how painful committee work ends up being. Don't forget you add your name to that list if you're going to put in Amaris or Pringles. Those reasons are also why Koniving and Bill would be good adds.

Bishop's already bowed out.

Bowed out?

Heck, I took off outta here like the devil hisself was chasing me.

Trying to represent this community? Seems about as good an idea as climbing into a bag of cats and jumping in a river.

I'm hesitant on Koniving, though, because the first thing he'd do is nerf Autocannons and most energy weapons into the ground. And then he'd scale lights to be almost the size of assaults.

this is to discuss and present an plan to rework ECM, nothing more.
