I tried recording with shadowplay (only way to record without fps hit, bypasses directx somehow, that's why it only works fullscreen) with the fps counter on.

Needless to say after youtube converted it the fps counter is almost unreadable, but at least you can see it stays green :P

Was running around trying to hit as many mechs as possible, assists is a good way to get the "valid win" 500000 cbill bonus in this leaderboard tournament thing.

Looks like you have room to turn things up a bit.

Probably, especially on the gpu reliant settings.

What GPU are you using?

In the coming months im going to be doing a bit of a random test on a Windows 10 Machine using said Pentium K and a 560TI 448.
Both will be under liquid cooling (hopefully) going to use the Kraken G10 and an all in one for the GPU and see how that works.

gtx 670, coming from a gtx470, but I'm cpu limited, especially during big close quarter brawls.

Cooling isn't a problem with the pentium, it lacks avx, which adds a lot of heat to synthetics like prime and linX. I could get it to 4.5 with the stock cooler, and that was on a hot summer day. Now I have the scythe mugen on, and it stays under 90 with everything, even with very uncomfortable voltages.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but 90c is terrifyingly hot. I don't like to push my chip passed 65c

I have a 4790k with GTX780 sli and 32gb if corsair dominator platinum ram. I get pretty good frames for the most part until a lot of missiles start exploding -- like the op described it becomes very choppy and unresponsive, the fps monitor reports it dropping to 15 or so frames.... Pretty unacceptable for a $3200 computer. I run everything on very high as recommended by nvidia's optimizing program.

The frame rate could be some times dependent on your field of view setting done by editing a user.cfg / systemoverride.cfg file.

At the default FoV of 60º, the frame rates are manageable, but once you increase it to 80º, they take a bigger hit in a brawl. At least in my experience.

No modifications to the user.cfg on my part, unsure if the OP's done so.

I notice the drop in performance specifically when missiles are impacting upon me -- I think the motion blur/shockwave animations are the culprit.

I'm even worse. I don't like to see mine over 45 C.

I am getting so fed up with my 8350 myself I have been dream shopping Intel boards and chips.

Curse you AMD!

Here is MWO @ 4k. Runs 55-45 FPS in game all maxed. X5930 @ 3.8.

I see very few big fps drops ,compared to 1080p

I've wondered about this, but never stopped to test …

If you havnt already, I advise checking out the thread I have where I am documenting the performance of the game on an AMD rig.

Still filling out all the fields, because I am slow and lazy.

I played around with all the graphic setting to try to customize the best graphics for frame rate. seem like the issue is in the coding for shadow resolution. That's were you see the most major spike in frame rate issues regardless of machine.

I would recommend setting shadows to low. since multiple mechs are casting several shadows on the field your graphics card kicks into overtime and frame rate drops by 15 to 25 frames.

I myself can run on max graphics with a 30 to 35 frame rate that spikes to the 20 from time to time. But when I touch that shade setting I lose 10 to 15 frames for each setting.

It also slowly gets worse with each patch as more and more coding and hotfixes go into the system.

 I know there's a few sub-steps in making use of this, but make use of this: http://www.tweakguid.../Crysis3_7.html
  • "Environment" = Volumetriceffects + Water + Shading
  • "Shading" = Quality

Well, it does brilliantly succeed where the 8350 fails :)

Funny, my 8350 does just fine. I can't run with MSAA or TXAA on (but that's a graphics card issue) but I get 60 fps solid (with occasional drops to 40, or sometimes 20-30 for a few seconds) with Post AA on, everything else maxed out.

How is that fine?
