As some of us suspected, with the CN9-AH comes an updated version. Rejoice?

Always nervous about these. Sometimes they turn out great... other times not so much.

Terrifying as this is... that might do wonders for the Awesome's hitbox when it comes to trying to protect the CT by twisting, at least around the barrels.

Then again currently if you hit a barrel's front end from the side it counts as CT damage (serious; go try it!)

I doubt it will be that significant with the Centurion. All it has is a gun arm that will not radically change from what it is now.

The missile launchers might be interesting as we see x3 of them on the A model (which I run with Streak-2s myself). In particular since only the first missile launcher will be under the moving door.

The energy weapons in the CT are simple. No PPC will fit, so it is just that 1 or 2 medium laser lense, or flamers (who nobody in their right mind will take). And may I take this time to re-iterate again that I would like to see Large Lasers get their own 3D model that is a longer barrel than the medium laser.

The AL energy weapons in that arm might be a bit more interesting.

Does this mean its going to be less wide and actually reflect its Concept art properly? Because that would be great. If it wasn't so fat, it would tie in with the Shadow Hawk and the Vindicator as some of the best looking mechs in the game.

If the Centy isn't going to be as wide, I wouldn't be surprised to see scores of them on the battlefield again. It'd be like a ShaqHawk that can competently mount large ballistics and zombie like a pro.

It'll be complete shenanigans. :D

I believe the Centurion is merely getting the cosmetic upgrades when switching between different weapons and not an entire geometry/hitbox pass.

If they stick to the really ugly PPC barrels, the CN9-AL is going to look horrid with a dual PPC loadout while a dual laser loadout is going to look underwhelming. the current arms on it looks really good.

and even though i doubt it's going to happen, i hope they remove the missile bay doors from the Centurion

I imagine it's just modifying how weapons look when mounted on the Cent because if they introduced the reward cent variant now, even if you mounted triple MGs or AC2s it'll still look like 1 big cannon which is a bit immersion breaking.

i just know they are going to screw up the missile doors. probably add some horrible boxy things on top of its LT like they did to that poor old cat.

but i can always hope that they just add in an extra row of 5 bays that fit with the current model, and have the bay doors. or better yet leave the extra geometry off and just keep using the current model, but stream missile volleys. firing 3 LRM 5, come out as 10, 5. 3 LRM 10s fire as, 10, 10, 10, and 3 SRM 6 as 10, 8. gives the mech character, and it wont ruin the mechs form

After what was done to some of the other older mechs and their complete indifference to some rather vocal...distaste...I'm not really very confident over how this is going to turn out.

I am very much afraid of this. centurion is my favorite mech. if they make it ugly like so many of the previous mechs this was done to I am going to vomit in a box and mail it to PGI. ok, I probably won't because that would have to be illegal but I will find some way of expressing my displeasure.

Its been kinda fun to run around with 3 LRM10s in the CN9-A, and being able to fire them in one go, when the model only has that tiny LRM10 visuals. I mean, it fires as many missiles as a lore Catapult but in a much much tighter spread.
Having the geometry reflect the loadout would be nice, but it would definitely make most versions of the -A even bigger than it is now.

I would like the cent to be less wide and tall, kinda like the concept art. It doesn't look like a mech that is about the same height and width as an Awesome (which it is now). If it was only the size of the Hunchie at least, which is also the same tonnage, I would be happy.

However I only expect this change to be the addition of a large box on the left shoulder and basically a changed gun arm. My -D with 2x Machine Guns looks kinda goofy with the huge geometry and those tiny little guns.
