so, i was in the tournament this weekend, constantly checking on my placement on the web page. As i was doing so, i would leave the web page minimized and go back to playing. I noticed that i was getting "higher" FPS w/ the browser minimized ( i use google chrome ) then when i just closed out of it .
w/o browser on & minimized - 51.2 FPS ( in mechlab)
w/ browser on & minimized - 59-60 FPS ( in mechlab )
so now i play w/the browser on/minimized
i have no idea what it means ( if anything at all).
just thought i should inform someone.
carry on...

Err
What kind of system
I always got stuff open in the background, at least the teamspeak, so I wouldn't know the difference though.
Is it just the browser?
Is it a 6/ or whatever core/ AMD?
In such a case, maybe I could guess I could see why, maybe.
Could be that windows is kinda forced to balance something out better, or you're cpu isn't throttling any more because more is going on.
You wouldn't happen to have you're power setting on something else than max performance?

It's kinda strange, but yes. For some reason, having your web browser open in the background (not loading anything) does seem to improve the game's performance.
I always have firefox open, so I didn't learn about this till (I think) support staff asked me if I had it open or not.
Don't ask me why...

Odd stuff, I'm going to test this, a bit later. If it works - kudos to the OP.
Is it any browser BTW?
Well, I've tested it and couldn't spot any difference on my PC.
