Seriously, we finally got rid of this default homescreen trash and now I'm trapped going there again? MAKE IT STOP!!! The homescreen is 98% useless and in those 2% of cases where I do want to go there I will do so on my own!

if you are in a group and leave match you should go to the group/social screen.
if you are not you should return the the screen you were in when you entered the match

Yes please revert this change PGI. Actually removing the Home Tab entirely would probably be wise. Its useless.

I agree. Revert the return screen back to the mechlab. It's where 90% of the action happens so why go anywhere else?

One possible reason is if going to mechlab causes additional load on the servers (IE- clients ask the server which mechs the client has) it could be putting an unknown load on the server. That being said, I usually don't goto mechlab after every round, so the added load of dumping me into mechlab (cause I picked my mechs there) would be unnecessary most of the time. Just speculating....

IIRC, the mechs are loaded primarily on first logon, at least the "Connecting" was lightning fast when i got only the founder mechs and since then it just got slower and slower. Still that doesn't explain why, because the raw data should be almost nothing compared to other services, it's like a 1 sec. Youtube video in 320p. I point the stick of shame at their database backend... ("SELECT FROM users OUTER JOIN mechs OUTER JOIN omnipods OUTER JOIN weapons OUTER JOIN weapon_groups OUTER JOIN quirks...")

The amount of data may not be much, but that tiny amount of data can generate a HUGE database query that face punches servers.

I change mechs after nearly every round depending on how I'm feeling, and the current distribution of weight classes in MM. This has just added another mouse click and several seconds on top of all the other unnecessary prompts and clicks. It all adds up

I nearly never change mechs during a gaming session. I have a lot of mechs and it takes the mechlab a while to load them all up. It looks horribly confusing and doesn't aid me at all, but it cost me time before I can re-enter a match, because the mechlab needs longer to load then the home screen.

Please keep in mind, that not everyone is playing the same way you do.

The best solution would be a compromise, not a rollback.

Compromise: Go back to the last tab before the drop, whatever that might be.

That would be acceptable, maybe even preferable.

Have to say home screen is the worse idea after a match

you gave us the x2 first match win so that it encourages multiple mech use (this was the reason you game)

Now you've added a facility which makes swapping mechs a bigger pain in the rear than it was.

The log in screen is of no use to anyone, except as a reference point, and a nice big screen of your mech.

Its really of little use or value.

please switch back

I support this as well. I gave the whole default to home screen thing some time to settle in and I decided I really don't care for it.
