As most of you know there was an attack in Ottawa just yesterday, where a Canadian Reservist Soldier standing guard at the National War Memorial was shot and killed by a lone attacker who then fled and was later killed in our Parliament Buildings.

I thought that this Editorial Cartoon was brilliant and needs to be shared;

I like it because it makes me sad. I have to go find pictures of friends I lost while in the service now.

I have too many that I've know and lost since the invasion of Iraq and the deployment in Afghanistan...

It's why I'm proud to work in the defense industry, to help make sure that someone else's loved one can come home not being carried on the shoulders of their brother's and sisters in uniform.

nothing, aside from a tragedy in the country where the game is made.... Mind you several thousand kilometers away, but same country none the less.

No idea, aside from things getting shot in both instances.

No matter if in here, or out there. A fallen Soldier/Warrior should always be recovered and remembered.

Where the hell do you live, under a Bridge?

Many soldiers/veterans play the game, as well as those that respect the sacrifices that soldiers/veterans make, so I see no harm in someone posting a tribute to fallen heroes.

If that somehow offends you, then there's no need for you to click the topic, much less make such a reply.

I think the tribute is excellent and am glad to have seen it posted here.

He's probably an American...

What happens to us Canadians has very little coverage in the USA, hell as a Canadian I probably know more about what his country is doing than he does...

A faulty generalization, As a Michigander and former Marine, I was touched by the post.

If he gets to post this then I get to post about Ferguson and Police Brutality. All I'm asking is why is this, as well meaning as it is, here in the general discussion board when it has nothing to do with the game and will be move to the off topic section anyhow. No need to get all nationalistic.

I didn't say I was pro or con. Hypothetically, I could have been cheering the police on.
