Nova
12CERML, tc 1 rest heatsinks. true nova starts at 12 CERML, or it's not a Nova

but I guess 10 or 8 CERML and additional DHS would be a better more heat efficient build. But its unfun.

I'm sharing after the tourney, not during it.
It's not like it's a secret... seriously, you'd think people look at the smurfy links I've put up in the past...

Gonna say.
Locust 1E running six small pulse and the biggest engine. Had a knifefight with someone running the med las Version and won. Faster fire rate is very important.

Prime run with stock just removing target computer and adding more DHS
then the other 2 runs with Uac/10 with 3x Ermed lasers and 4x C-srm 6 with artemis and 600 missiles
made like 10-12 matchs top with my adders this weekend and i'm at rank 30 right now (mostly for 2xp to finish last 21k to master)
The most important thing it's a misture of map awareness and being agressive enough to seize any opportunity for fast kills on the unaware.

I ran a kitfox this time around, but didn't have much time to play. Putting up siding on my house ate most of Friday and all of Saturday.

I probably should have stuck with Shadowhawks. I topped out at 2191 in it last tourney.
Smurfy Link
KFX-PRIME
1xUAC5 with 3 tons ammo in side torsos
3xERML
ECM
"C" arm, "S" right torso.
It's a really common build. In fact, all the other KFX players I saw usually used it. For long games, I usually prefer 2xERML and 1xLPL, but that removes the shake I can give enemies with my UAC5. The LPL helps for longer range engagements however. I also pack it with heatsinks in that 2nd build, and have a single Clan Targeting Computer MK1. Range modules for my weapons are a must. I also run Radar Deprevation, Artillery Strike and Seismic Sensor.
The kitfox has a real problem with kill stealers. You can 1 on 1 other mechs well, but kill stealers will often take your kills because you don't have front loaded weapons. I've tried a LBX5 instead of UAC5, but it cuts down on the firepower delivered and seems to do less damage overall due to the inaccurate spread. It's the reality of playing a low damage mech like the kitfox, but I still love the little guy.

I use all kinds of builds but the one I find to be the most consistently good for me is
2 uac5's 4 med lazers and an xl315
or the xl275 2 uac5 and 2 ppcs

That said, I'm pretty sure almost everyone else I've seen on the Jenner boards is just using the 6xML build or something similar. I always stop playing these things after it becomes clear all that's left is a grindfest for lucky games.
A number of top Kintaros, Highlanders, Battlemasters, and Awesomes are also running LRM builds mostly going for the 12 assists and kill-steals (as in waiting somewhere and not firing unless they have a good chance of getting the kill).
