LCT-1Vb seems like possible fit for a hero mech from that line, comes stock with all the upgrades. XL eng, Ferro, Endo, and Dbl Heatsinks. Along with 2 small lasers, 2 Med Pulse Lasers, and a Medium laser.

SHD-5S would be a nice addition for a hero mech as well. Larger Laser, med pulse laser, and 4 medium lasers, with a TAG, BAP, and ECM.

OOOOOOH... SHD-5S... yum!

Might not need ammo for the MGs if you had twelve of them, at least not in my case: kinda hard to play MW:O when you're doubled over your desk laughing. <_<

Hero Locust: 6x MGs, 2x Energy, 2.5 tons ammo. Go!

Edit:
Also XL195.

i still get some good chuckles with my Jm6-DD with 6x mg and 2x LPL ... the idea of a 12+ MG mech it´s just hilarious, also i´m secretely hoping PGI adds the Piranha someday... just after my Urbie!!!

Those Mgs, 10 must HS rule and 2,5 tons of ammo leaves you .64 tons for those two energy weapons.
So epic hero ability Lolcust with "no 10 HS must rule"-feat could do 12 MG with 3 tons of ammo... I would buy it ;)

While I think it will indeed be the Carlyle's I can see one other remote possibility. Theodore Kurita and Tomoe Sakade. Though Theodore is already connected to the Protector Orion he also used a Battlemaster during the war of 39. Meanwhile Tomoe has piloted a Panther (early release Panther hero!). Yeah, highly unlikely, I know.

Marauder and Shadowhawk would make the most sense.....

You don't need to drop the 10 Heat-Sink rule to make it work.

I'd load it with two small lasers, six MGs, and two tons of ammo. You equip Endo and Ferro, but stay with Standard Heatsinks. It's not going to run hot, anyway, so it's whatever about the loss of heat dissipation.

Alternatively, you can fit two medium lasers if you drop a half ton of ammo and bump down to an XL180 engine. This one will run a bit hot, but the extra utility might be worth it.

But yeah, I so want a 6x MG Locust. I sincerely hope they don't make it a 2x Missile, 2x Ballistic Locust. That would be silly hard to optimize and ultimately not that different from the LCT-1M.

I orignally figured Wolverine and Shadowhawk, but perhaps they'll build out a Thunderbolt instead of an Archer for the other hero.

Well it would make us the most happy, to get the Marauder in game, though Harmony Gold might complain about it making sense (those ********).

its a mech that we already have...

so Locust, Shadowhawk, Wolverine, or Thunderbolt.

we're getting a T-bolt Champion, so i find that unlikely, so im voting for the Carlyles' Locust and Shadowhawk.

He said "old school" mechs... no where was it mentioned that they were mechs already in game unless it was posted elsewhere.

The "old school" mechs that are the phoenix mechs were thrown at us from out of nowhere.... No one saw them coming. You never know.... we could get another surprise like that.

Atleast I hope so..... but famous husband and wife.... I'd vote the Carlyle's.

While the Vindicator crept up on us recently and was also outside of a package, given the work needed to get the Clan Wave 2 done, I guess everybody assumes its unlikely we'll get a Hero which isn't one of the Phoenix 'Mechs

Ammo is pretty important with MGs.

You don't need ammo, just get small lasers...
