Russ just said on the Twitch Townhall that he has been talking with Microsoft for the past couple years and they have a great relationship with Microsoft.

Russ then said that, IF MICROSOFT MADE ANOTHER BT/MW GAME THEY WOULD HAVE MADE ANOTHER MECHASSAULT GAME. Basically.

PGI saved us from Mechassault! WOO!

Note: Mechassault 1 and 2 were the **** back in my days on the original xbox, but I'm SOOOOOO glad we got a legitimate MW game and not arcadewarrior: online.

Rejoice!

I prefer BattleTech Video Games with compartmentalization. Microsoft prefers BattleTech games with monetization. I'm glad we all reached a compromise.

Indeed. However a mechsim is something I think the BT/MW community desire more than the style of game mechassault brought.

However, nothing was more satisfying than shooting a skyscraper and watching it collapse, taking an enemy 'mech with it. The multiplayer was super fun. I bought MA:2 limited edition.

Was playing MA2 a few months ago. The other day I started up the xbox original and it stopped working. RROD on original xbox (lol). Took it apart. Somehow while the console was off for 3 days caused the motor that drives the read/write needle on the HDD to break >.>

Great memories of MechAssault. Awesome game. You needed to charge the PPCs, and then you could just hold them until you were ready to fire. It had the right formula for a console robot game.- easy to learn, but hard to master. Plus you could talk to both your team and the other team during the game. The only downside was the forever waiting in the lobby to actually get a full game going.

Mechassault was pretty ok, so long as you got over the Lore aspect.

As a fun arcade style game, it was pretty rad, and I didn't much mind the "Stock only" thing, because it worked well with that system.

I'm happy we got this though. It's shaping up, just took a while.

Doesn't sound so bad. I'd be all about a game I only have to pay for once.

Too bad, MechAssault 3 would have probably been a fun single player game.

Would have far and away preferred a singleplayer game to price gauging f2p. Sure a legit singleplayer MW would have been even better but I'd have taken MechAssault 3 no questions asked.

I only played 1, didn't even know a 2nd came out. That must have been after I stopped playing consoles.

Yeah, it was "arcade" and lore was not there. I still liked getting my Timberwolf and wrecking **** with PPCs. Not even close to the level of MW2 or 4 but I enjoyed it for a day or two.

Still waiting on Mechcommander 3. Loved those games, even if the mech construction rules weren't that great.

I saved myself. Never played mechassault.
Only time I've tried it, I had these expressions:  ---> --->

I want a cockpit in which I can lay down my a$$.
No arcade for me.
Figured, i would like that every key of the keyboard would have heir own effect/funcion/task.

People keep going on about hating Battletech games that are "arcade" games. But there is/was a Battletech arcade game. Well, more of a simulator pod, but it was a game in an arcade.

It's cargo cult hating, half of them probably never even played any of the MechAssaults.

But yes, a sim game always does the stompy robots the most justice, so it's good that at least someone is doing something like MWO. However, I wouldn't be sad to see Microsoft put out another arcade style one either, because it'll be fun for what it is. Which will be a vaguely-battletech-flavored arcade game.

Mechcommander was awesome. I would play a Mechcommander 3 over and over lol....that is provided it wasnt just MWO in that 3rd person sky down view......but an actual PVE massive campaign. Maybe improve on the damage models and make it more TT......but yeah.

There was a better choice, it was called Living Legends, but it had too many features making MWO look bad so they killed it. [it was about to get a mechlab before the devs were forced to shut down]
