Now that I've actually started buying modules, a question:
How do the Radar Deprivation (which seems to be a frequently-mentioned early purchase suggestion) and Target Decay/Adv. Target Decay modules interact?
Radar Dep. makes enemy locks drop when you move out of sight
Adv Target Decay makes locks last longer on enemies who've moved out of sight.
Does Radar Dep completely override Target Decay (which would make Target Decay quite a lot less useful) or is there some give and take?

Radar Dep completely cancels Target Decay.
Unless you play missile boats more than any other type of mech Radar Derp is going to be the better choice.

Thanks.
That seems like an odd setup to me though -- one module renders the other completely irrelevant.
Wish I'd asked the question before unlocking target decay now

Well, to add some quirky experience; I have not bought Radar Derp nor has it been needed for me.
And if you had invested into Advanced Target Decay, it does have its moments aiding your team even if there are no LRMs on your team, since it can give allies more time to see where certain enemies are sitting at.
Also adding that LRMs are not really an issue for me, if I get done in its often by choice or a calculated decision to aid the team such as trying to absorb attention from the enemy; it don't always work but its a noble enough cause! Posting that here so that if a fellow pilot is interested I or others may give an example as to how such tactics might help based on team compositions!.

From what I read before Target Decay adds 1.5 seconds of lock time which is retained because Derp removes the 2 seconds default lock time. I could be wrong though.

Actually this is untrue.
Radar Dep only removes the "INITIAL" target lock you get on a mech once he leaves line of sight. If you have Target decay on against a radar deped mech, then you get your full 4 seconds of "extended lock" time left on the target. But you ONLY get that 4 seconds after he leaves LOS.

Spiral -- that makes a bit more sense to me.
Praetor -- I think it depends. I'm less worried in the smaller boats, but in something slow, every opportunity to avoid lurmaggeddon is a good one.
