Hi all,
I played quite a bit of MW:O back in beta and early release. I am considering starting up again, and I am kind of hoping for some help figuring out a new mech to work towards.
Back in the day, my primary mech was a CN9-D ( http://mwo.smurfy-ne...d36cc37a96ca428 ), but at a quick glance at all the changes that have occurred since I last dropped, I reckon that a more up-to-date player could help me construct something that perhaps fits into the modern game a little better.
So, what I liked about this rig:
1. It was fast enough to get to wherever the action was.
2. It had a versatile array of firepower, allowing me to get some shots in no matter what was going on.
3. It was remarkably tough.
I played it as something of a skirmisher/striker - getting chip damage in with the UAC5 for the start of the match, and chasing off light mech from assaults and bases - and bringing my SRMs to bear on the big boys once they have lots of holes in their armor.
What sort of mech fills this role nowadays?

Stormcrow is a pimp mech minus the AC5 on my prime..if that's your thing the Nova is a nice medium skirmisher I find..got some beams, got some dakka, got some JJs to reach the high spots.

Vindicator checks all those boxes.
It's a 45 tonner and doesn't have many hardpoints, but it's got really good hit boxes (on the front), is very bouncy, decently fast and comes with various combinations of PPC, laser and missile perks, so you can kit it out for pretty much any job.
Certainly not the greatest mech ever, but easily one of the most stylish.

The Cent D with LBX 10 is great now. The LBX fires so quickly it may as well be an auto shotty. If you still have the mech give that a try. You may find the shadow hawks to your liking as well, fast if you want and carries a good set of weaponry

Cool! Anyone have a specific build they like?
I think I'm going to give the Shadow Hawk chassis a shot, but I'm still interested in hearing other suggestions. I am not even especially married to the medium weight class, even though that's definitely where I gravitated to before - just in case anyone has a light/heavy/assault suggestion.

hello, check out the quirks

my personal recommendation would be to stick with medium or heavy since they have the mobility which is quite good for cw (if you plan to play that), but definitely play something before deciding on new mech

I love the Griffin, very nice medium. Does a similar job as the centurion but with 5 more tons and Jump Jets.
