There's a guy that works the night-shift at a gas station and all sorts of bizarre things happen and then there's some sex cult or something and it's totally weird

I can't remember the name for the life of me

The beginning of it strikes me as being almost like fight club in tone

Are there vampire strippers that eat people on stage? Because I faintly remember a movie like that, but I can't remember the name of that one either, and what you're describing kind of reminds me of it, so I thought they might be the same movie.

MAY..BE,..? I don't... know. Are you thinking of "From Dusk Till Dawn"? Maybe? If not it might be the same movie.

The movie that StompingOnTanks references is indeed from Dusk till Dawn. It doesn't feature a gas station though. There is a mexican bar/brothel though, including vampires, apparently the biggest assortment of feline parts ever and the awesome crotch-gun/revolver.

It starts with an opening monologue about the weird types of people that end up at a gas station in the middle of the night, that much I can recall correctly. And the main character works there.
