Just a heads up, at this time, you can not create a Unit or join a faction.

Hmm, I can't replicate this.

Have you previously broken a contract? What kind of error do you receive when attempting to create a Unit?

Same error here. I broke my pledge and now that 48h timers is off I can't choose new faction.

Can you post up a screenshot of your Faction > Inner Sphere Home screen?

Have you re-logged the client after the expiration of the original contract, or are you still running the same client session?

Yes sir,

I have re-logged after the expiration of the original contract and ran the repair tool and the problem still persists.

Below is my contract activity:
Clan wolf 7 day
Joined a unit with a permanent Clan wolf contract
left unit then broke contract (the original 7 day contract)
48hr penalty
Currently trying to accept a 7 day contract from Kurita and producing the error.

I will post more images at 6:30 EST

The error I receive for unit creation is similar to the faction error.

"ERROR: Unable to create unit"

Yes,

I waited after the 48hr period to try accepting a new contract. When I go to my faction tab, I am forced to choose a faction and whichever one I choose, I receive the error. I have tried every faction at every length even permanent, all produce the error.

In my case it looks exactly like this (yes I restarted game client multiple times since expiration time of my previous pledge has ended).

This bit seems a tad strange...

Below is my contract activity:

Clan wolf 7 day
Joined a unit with a permanent Clan wolf contract.

So you had 2 Contracts running simultaneously?

You took a 7 day solo Contract then got added to a Unit with a Perm Contract? Hmmm, seems like "leaving" may not have ended your Perm status Contract some how. Just spit balling here of course.

Draconnus did you also Join a unit after taking a Solo Contract? Trying to find some common similarities?

Almond Brown, to my understanding, you do not need to break your contract if the unit you are joining has a contract of the same faction. The unit contract overwrites the personal one. I too believe the system still thinks I have permanent status.

Draconnus, can you outline the steps you took in the same way that Felix did? Which Faction you joined before, whether you then joined a Unit, etc.

1. The day CW was released I choose to pledge loyalty to FRR (as solo player, I'm not part of any organised unit).
2. After 2 days I broke the contract (last Friday, please don't ask me why I did that (:) and still played as FRR pilot waiting for 48h cooldown to end.
3. Today I logged in and tried to pledge to FRR once more and got this error.

Can you keep me posted on this issue and maybe a time frame please? I can't exactly play till this is resolved. Maybe use admin powers to free our accounts from the issue then patch? I am afraid that I will have to wait till next patch to play again.

Working on this right now actually. It's a crazy one.

I'll try to update you ASAP on when we can resolve your specific issue. Still need to narrow some things down before we know the fix will actually be a fix.

Roger that. It just seemed strange you had 2 separate Contracts running from 2 different sources. I am sure Alexander will get it sorted for you all.

P.S. A contract that runs out properly does not impose any wait time penalties right?

Update time!

Bad news: There is indeed a bug in the current release wherein breaking a permanent contract (and running down the 2-day cooldown period) will prevent you from starting a new contract of any length.
The only way to resolve this issue right now is by creating a Unit of your own, at which point you should be able to start a new contract without issue (if you're getting a Unit creation error, it's probably because the Name or Tag are already taken).

Good news: This bug will be fixed in the next patch (currently set for tomorrow). This fix will also retroactively fix this issue for any player currently experiencing the bug.
