Hello,

I was trying to use the new setting inside the user.cfg file which allows setting the default level of the cockpit lights inside the Mech when a match starts.
I currently can't even find the current patch notes where it was announced (EDIT: Patch Notes 1.3.358), but I lack a bit of documentation on how to turn them off.

  • Added a new client cvar, 'gp_default_cockpit_light', configurable from within user.cfg, which controls the initial light level for the first person cockpit (between 0 and 5).

1) It said, the possible values are between 0 and 5, but manually cycling through all light levels showed only 4 different levels.

2) And neither the value 0, 4 or 5 turn the lights off.

According to what I saw on reddit there is no value of "0".
To turn off lights:

gp_default_cockpit_light=1

>>1 = No lights
>>2 = Dark Dim
>>3 = Medium Dim
>>4 = Medium Bright
>>5 = Full Bright
>>gp_default_cockpit_light=1 // No Lights
>>gp_default_cockpit_light=5 // Full Bright

There is cockpit lighting? Explain! Do you mean the small lights or real light like in the car?

I was wrong, and there actually are 5 different states (one for off and four "with" lights). The phrase from the patch notes of the allowed values being "between 0 and 5" is a bit misleading still, as there seems no state for 0.

The value 1 turns the lights off. That works now. Thanks!

There are light sources inside each Mech which illuminate the interior of the cockpit and the computer screens.
Up until this patch, you only could manually cycle through the intensity levels of these with the key binding found in the game options.

Located above and behind the pilot, the default is "full lights", and perhaps most noticeably in the Raven:
