^^ I like this a lot too. Imagine the cool things you could add to your mech with modules based on this kind of idea. I chuckled to myself imagining the second Predator movie when he scrolls through all his vision modes.

Oh man, Russ needs to get some beauty sleep ASAP !
He looks like he hasnt sleep in weeks. He has to relax or he wont last untill launch.
The road to getting filthy rich is hard. ;)

Thanks for the heads up on this article! Really nice video, saw some mech variants in there that I haven't seen yet, like the Dragon-1C and 5N.

It would be great if the wind from the snowstorm knocked jumping mechs around in addition to reducing heat buildup. ;)

Edit:

Making lasers unable to fire and making ballistic weaponry + missiles more inaccurate might not be so fun if they went that far with physics and realistic stuff.

you get a glimpse of it at 0:34 and 0:55. one also gets blown up at 1:17

I really like the idea that different maps provide you with changes to the meta game. When he talks about the bigger map in the interview being a more snipe-centric creation it gives me a thought;

Will you be able to pick your mech/modules/loadout based on what map is coming up in the next battle? I mean, surely as a Mechwarrior we would equip ourselves out with more Lazers on the cold planet, and perhaps more "snipey" modules etc on the long open map planet.

Is that something that has been considered I wonder?

Glad they put up an official video of this new map; I'm excited that it seems to have a very different feel than Forest Colony (I'm guessing that's the name of the map we've been seeing in the videos these past months?).

Eliz: not sure what high wind would do to even a 20-ton mech, tbh.

That looked awesome... complete white-out suddenly and without warning... I can just imagine that happening and then clearing just to reveal the enemy Atlas stood in front of your Light... ;)

*sigh* another control to try to find a home for on the X-52... ;)

I like that there's an inertia mechanic that prevents larger 'mechs from coming to a quick stop on slippery surfaces such as ice, or slip-n-slides. I so can't wait to blow up alot in August!

AWESOME. Since the map in the leaked video (frozen whatever map) seemed to be able to support 24 players maximum, I am speculating these 'much bigger' maps will support 32 players and more? Thoughts?

New maps looks deadly. Love the way the different environments will affect 'mech behaviour :-)

Unfortunately it looks like 12 v 12 will be the maximum at launch. Maybe later.

Yeah, I think the idea of the larger maps is more to give you different playstyles. Longer flanks to race down, more access paths from point to point so its not just a cluster frag when everyone gets to the middle. That kind of thing.
