Well then, don't humblebrag or namedrop DoD/DoE if you don't want to be thought of as another useful fedgov drone, that secretly resents their benefactor like some kind of rebellious teen.

Making better warriors is making better humans. This is where our world views diverge again. You seem to think that being nice and turning the other cheek is more conducive to our species' survival, and I think engineering/breeding stronger, faster, smarter and more ruthless humans will get the job done over 9000 times more efficiently. Thinking in your simpleton good vs evil paradigm, you believe Eugenics is Bad. I look at it as scientific, self-conscious evolution. We could wait millions of years for environmental conditions to change, a bunch of humans die off, and reap the benefit of the mutation from the survivors, or, do that all on purpose over many generations in lab-controlled conditions. No one even has to die. Eugenics no longer applies in the real world simply because we have technologies that will eventually take any random person and make them into supermen. The objective hasn't changed, only the method. But since h+ has no baggage with it that makes the association with fascist regimes and mass extermination, you're totally on board. This is why your rants sound ridiculous.

I don't know how much more clear I can make this, but the Clans ENGINEER the three phenotypes. Elementals have enhanced strength and endurance. They can grow as tall as 8', and are obviously far stronger and meatier than a normal freebirth human. Aerospace pilots are small people, like 5'6" and like 130lbs for fitting into fighter cockpits, and enjoy a regimen of enhancements to pilot attributes (vision, reflexes, etc). Mechwarriors are physically normal compared to freeborn, but get reflex/dexterity enhancements, and changes that help them interface better with nuerohelmets. The selective breeding part only involves the genetic material added/removed from the overall pool, as Clans preserve the material of great warriors, and discard that of lessor ones. So, their program is actually a mix of a classic eugenics with modern h+, which is entirely appropriate given when this fiction was created.

The rest of your post is the standard Clan slandering, using terms you barely understand the definition of, citing lore you're not really familiar with.

Edit: almost forgot to mention that I lul'd at Che Kerensky up there. Good times.

Ummmm, no. Making better warriors just makes better warriors. Humans are descended from pack animals and in 98% of the population have extreme trouble killing other humans...it other species even.

The ability to callously go put there and terminate other life is useful in difficult times or when survival of the pack or species is at risk, but in current times, or even 1000 years into the space 80's, survival isn't a problem.

Want to know about other people that were very good at "getting the job done"? Mussolini was great at getting the trains to run. Mao Tse Tung got his country to produce a lot of (granted low quality) steel. {Godwin's Law} was able to pull a fractured country in dire economic trouble back together.

Lots of jobs got done there...and lots of jobs are created as a result. Grave diggers for instance. Mao's great leap forward killed 100 million. Lots of jobs to get done there.

The clan's are nothing than another name for BORG. You will be assimilated. They can take that and go back to whatever rock they crawled out of.

Honestly no Military force would ever model themselves after the Clan Doctrines and without severe brutality that cows instantly the type of reaction like what Shotokan has displayed the Clans wouldnt have a snowballs chance in hell. Hit the Capital Planets with a Dinosaur killer and declare IS-wide 'Surrender or face annihilation!' and the slightest resistance is met with a Iron Fist. Humans have proven over and over that Iron Fist Diplomacy is the most effective (want proof? Look what happened after Marshal Tito died or even more recent Saddam Hussein and his Iron Fist control of Iraq. Without those Iron Fists both regions fell into Chaos.)

This thread is back? How delightful.

The Hidden Hope Doctrine was the space warrior equivalent of a futuristic Manifest Destiny. And a military force already was the template for the fictional Clans, namely the Mongol hordes. Throw in a bit of THX-1138 cashless technocracy and a dash of genetic transhumanism and bam, you got Clans. We're heading towards this glorious future right this second.

Onward to Terra!
