Doesn't work for me, happening every single drop now. Re-installed 3 times, repaired god knows how many times. And PGI are just laughing at us all because they clearly don't care because this bug has been around for over a year now. Keen to take your money but ask for any help and complete silence lol. Typical.

I've been away for awhile, but after a system upgrade, decided to come back and wreak some havoc. Problem I have now is that I receive the above error every time I the game gets to the point of loading the map, right before getting into the battle itself.

I've run a repair at least 5 times, and every time it is the two same files which show corrupt and get replaced:

polygon.pak
mechs\commando.pak

I've even gone straight to the website and grabbed the files

http://patcher.mwome...ame/polygon.pak
http://patcher.mwome...hs/commando.pak

No matter what I do, further integrity checks still fail on these two files, and the game continues to crash at the same point. Additionally, I keep accruing matchmaking error penalties for leaving a match prematurely (which isn't my fault at all). Any thoughts?

TIA

Several possible reasons for that particular error.

http://mwomercs.com/...__fromsearch__1

Have you rebooted the computer?
Have you run the integrity test more than one time before launching the game to play?
Locate and delete the files manually then try again.
Does the issue happen on any mech or just one specific mech (since it is listing the commando) and without the polygon pattern?

Do you have more than one harddrive? Copy the entire MWO folder to the other drive, or to another folder, ie games/mechwarrior online or MWOtest or something.

Drill down to the copied MWO folder, bin32 folder and right click on MechwarriorOnline.exe and send to desktop as shortcut Rename the shortcut so you know which game you are using. Run MechwarriorOnline.exe from the copied location and test.

Yes, a reboot did not fix the problem

Yes, at least 6 now, every time it detects that mechs\Commando.pak (specifically Objects\mechs\commando\body\commando_body_spc.dds) and polygon.pak (specifically Objects\mechs\skins\polygon_a\centurion_polygon_a_body_rgb.dds) are corrupted. It downloads new versions, and a subsequent integrity check shows they are still corrupt. I have even pulled the files down from the source myself, and subsequent integrity checks show the files are still corrupt. My guess would be is that those files on the host (that both the client and myself are trying to pull down) are corrupt and need to be replaced.

I tried that, even though I had little faith it would work since I believe these two files are corrupt at the source level, and they are both still showing corrupt, specifically the files I highlighted above.

It is hard for me to answer this question, since the game crashes before I actually get into the battles, and I am unable to see if there are other people piloting the commando or centurion mechs. I am not piloting either mech type myself, and I have successfully made it into battles where I have noticed that neither mech is in the lineup. The problem is, both mechs are used a lot, so most battles will crash for me, and I receive a penalty from the system for leaving the battle to early.

I do, but the issue is not the drive, the issue is these two specific files (more specifically the two files within these two files). I just need a working copy, either from the host (PGI), or someone who has the game installed who is not currently experiencing the same problem as me.

Deleted everything I had typed here. I have tested by disabling antivirus and firewall, no change.

For testing, I moved those files in my MWO elsewhere. The commando.pak downloaded directly or via the repair tool comes up corrupt. The polygon.pak comes up okay. Have tested both in game. fread error with the downloaded commando but no error when loading up a mech with polygon pattern.

For commando.pak error is in this file.
Objects/mechs/commando/body/commando_body_spc.dds

You can use 7-Zip to test the integrity of the pak as it can be read as a zipfile.

Now, as to what is causing it? Possible recent corruption on the patch server. My good files are dated 7-19-16. Or the issue is happening along the path. And if I am reading this correctly, for you this was a fresh install/download, yes?

I have sent you an IM with links to those two files to download and replace the corrupted ones you have. If you haven't yet, install 7-Zip so you can check the integrity very quickly. Right click on the file name, Select 7-Zip then Test Archive.

Reference Suddenlink ISP in Texas, Norton

I have sent an email to technical about it. If you have not you should also send one.

Tarl,

Thank you so much for working with me on this. It is not a fresh install, but I hadn't played in probably 6-8 months, and was way behind on my patches. Game worked fine for me back then, so I was assuming something got corrupted as well. After attempting it so many times and seeing the same error in the exact same files within the PAKs, I was hard pressed to believe the corruption was always occurring at the same place during my data transfer.

I have 7-Zip, and have been using it to validate the integrity of these two files with each attempt. I will try to grab the files you linked and see if it helps.

I'll post back here with my results.

Thank you again!

Thank you again, Tarl! After downloading your files, I was able to run 10 battles without a crash (with Centurions and Commandos present in some of them). I have an open ticket with support, and will let them know that your files resolved my problem.
