Hey folks.

Encountering this a lot?

Please open your user.cfg file and add this to your config file.

oo_log_level_mask = 65535

And whenever you get that crash, save a copy of your Omicron.log file and send it to us.

Then disable it, because the extra logging will slow your systems down.

Thanks! This will help us solve the problem(s).

Jon,

I'm not getting the "Unknown Error" bug but instead am getting random crashes to desktop about every 8-10 games. Would this also help you debug that problem?

This has been driving me nuts for almost a week now. I am glad to see it's not just me and that it is being looked into.

Cheers!

and now it's not working anymore. CTD after literally every match again.

Seems to go in spurts, one day I'll be fine, the next, constant unknown errors.

I don't think it is a fix Bishop, I think it adds to the Omicron log

After you add that line to your user.cfg, when you get the error you are supposed to send a copy of your Omicron Log to support. Then delete your Omicron log because the large file will slow down the game.

Its strange. Since the last time i messed around with the user.cfg file i cant find it now.. where is it located again at? isnt it usually in the bin 32 folder?

Edit:

oh.lol you have to self create it . create a editor file. and name it user.cfg. Safe that file in the mwo folder

http://mwo-builds.ne...ckpit-user-cfg/

or dl the user.cfg here

Just received this error for the first time. Should I bother enabling logging?

Nope, no more need for logging anymore - we know what the issue is and the engineers will be able to fix it.

FYI, still having the crashes on Mining Colony where it locks up and is a solid black screen in full screen mode, but if I Alt-Tab and hover my cursor over the MWO icon on the taskbar, it shows as the log-in screen with the Unknown Error box over it. It's been doing this for a couple weeks, in both 64- and 32- bit clients, and I did send in an Omicron log file. Running repair tool & rebooting now.

Where is the 'user.cfg' file stored for Steam installations? I've checked my appdata and my steam folder and it's in neither?
