I've been playing for about 2 weeks. My message to you PGI, is THANK YOU!

You did a great job, I find it true to the previous titles in the series while also being new, modern, and detailed. I could really go on and on in a giant block-o-text about all the tiny little details that make this product awesome!

This is only my second ftp title (tribes being the first).

the things that stand out most are:

every class is competitive!

visible loadout changes on the mech. AWESOME!

using other mech's targeting locks!

I feel that this is the MP experience that every other MW title should have been (didn't play MWLL so I have to exclude it).

After my cadet bonus ended, I had no problem plunking down 25 for some content.....

25 is a really weak amount! so i bought an ala carte TW and put another 50 on my MC books.

I WAS planning on using SCRx3 and TW for my drop deck... my TBR are almost to elite....

THen you screw it all up (my plans) by releasing HBRs for MC!

really thanks though, I was going to spend 90 bucks on this last week.

so, in essence.. great game, great community, 2 weeks, 130.00 spent, worth every penny.

I will make a deal with you PGI... you keep this game going and I will spend at least 250 per year.

thanks again...

now... do I stick with my original plan of SCRx3+TBR? or do 2xscr and 2xhbr.

cause yeah, even though it may set my plans back.... i MUST have a HBR. lol

you hooked me PGI.... GG

Welcome, mechwarrior B)

Warning: piloting mech is a kind of drug.
And... the wallet will suffer.

Welcome aboard. It's refreshing to hear someone get through the initial learning curve this game offers given the lackluster new user experience. Glad to hear you stuck with it. It's a worthy game.

Welcome to the game. Props for supporting it :)

Please post again in 2 or 4 weeks and let us know how you feel about the game then, whether your impression has changed or not.

As a new player I would ask if you would tell us what are the high and low points of MWO for you. What would make this game easier for a new person to get into the game. What did you find confusing and that should be changed and what worked good and no change needed. Would a tutorial map and instruction other than what we have be of good help?

Thanks and good luck, see ya on the battle field

1) I had to WORK to understand the basics of everything that's not piloting. XP, GXP, Modules, Unlocking them in Pilot tree then actually buying the module. I found this forum, the you tube tutorials, and the various online guides to be 96% helpful.

2) High point was 2 nights ago, 3 kills in a row and a hat trick to end the match. I'm lucky to get one KB usually. this was in my TBR prime at the top of the basic tree with the zoom module only.

I'm OLD. I want a nice big fat BOOK, with pages, lol. they could get about 60 bucks from me for a printed manual.

Really, 3 PVE tutorials with bots would make it amazing, and one more through the mechlab.

SOme advice somewhere to BUY a hero or champ mech before playing so your cadet bonus stacks faster? hahahaha

I am surprised you got through the blue jungle of UI 2.0.

Sir, you have proven yourself with that first step. Good to have you on board.

Thank you sir for the reply and your suggestions and input are duly noted. I feel ya on the old part a printed manual with large print would be great.

I am always looking for ways to help the newcomer and try to make suggestions to PGI. My hope is that one day we have an intuitive basic training program to guide the new player and refresh the old farts alike. Once this game goes to steam we will need something much better to offer than what we currently have or we will not get many that stick around.

If you ever need any help feel free to look me up and I will do my best. Lots of good people on here so your in good hands, mostly.

well... maybe contact Brady to work on their own 3rd party manual like they do for other IPs, they do all the work, PGI gets a slice of the profits.

But seriously, with it going on steam, to be more new user friendly, you're gonna need AI. a bot to run around and shoot back.

each training mission could have a 2 minute video, and then they turn you loose to practice on a small part of the map.

Another way to make MONEY, after you have this AI for bots, is to SELL pve co op missions, or code tanks.. like hetzlers and myrmidons and sell them as scorestreak modules to beef up base defenses. a few tanks to stomp would bring back nostalgia and give more timid players a way to score cbills for killing defenses.

but for me, it's fine. they put quakelive on steam with much less in the way of training. of course there's much less to the game other than good aim. lol.
