Dynamic weapon geometry can be both a blessing and a curse...

From what ive seen, mostly a curse.......

I liked it better when the mech was the mech and it didnt change regardless of loadout...I always thought it would be cool to have dynamic weapon geometry....but maybe PGI just did it wrong..

I mean, having missiles firing out of a Cannon barrel is cool so long as it keeps the mechs looks proper.......cuz seriously, stubby lasers, the catapult VCRs, good thing we dont have Awesome booblies yet...

Loved the old arm. Despise the new arm.

Old arm rules.

I'd prefer that the novelty size bulbous arms stay in the trash.

Also, I never said what side of the fence I am on, I too, like the new arm, what I miss however, is the grungy look of the mech. Meanwhile, the AH(L) got all the sexyness.

While I do miss the arm, the biggest problem for me is the left torso missile area. Something about it looks funny especially with the larger launchers.

I haven't played it for months. The reward Centurion is a better Mech.

I would disagree. The Yen-Lo-Wang is far better since it has energy hardpoints so it can keep going even if it runs out of ammo or gets its gun arm shot off.

both are better than other centurions since they can bring AC20s.

The Yen-Lo has two arm hardpoints. How do you suppose them handle the dynamic hardpoints then? Obviously the single big gun approach doesn't work in their system.

or could you know...use both arms.

Current boxy arm for anything but the AC20
Big arm for the AC20

cant equip anything else because of how many slots the AC20 takes up so problem solved.

I bought a Centurion because I liked the shield-GIANTCANNONARM look.

A couple days later it was changed to a plug.

I sold it.

The Centurion had different gun arm models for the LBX-10, AC/10 and AC/20. There isn't a reason that I can think of that the entire arm can't be swapped out by that dynamic weapon system.

I don't see it being a problem, or any sort of difficult task to use the CURRENT arm for all ballistics while using the OLDER arm for the AC20.

My name is StraferX and I support going back to the old arm.

Bigger is Better for that AC-20. It is the first mech I bought and probably what made me stick around to see what else would come along.

Now I'll get to play with the panther and enforcer. but the YLW is the most iconic mech ever.

Yeah, old gun arms are way cooler on all of the Centurions.

They should revert every one back IMO

Thanks for support! Just need to get Russ' attention so we can put it into action. As stated before it shouldn't be a huge task to just revert back.

Eeeuuurrrrgh... MY HEART!!!

Showing not only how beautiful the old Centurion arm was, but also how great the old Tiger pattern was on it!! Here was my long-lasting CN9-A, my 'mech of 'mechs, my darling, my sweetie, my godhood:

Pretty damn nice-looking, right? But then they decided to give the Cent a much-dreaded (f)art pass. The removed that glorious gun arm. They took out the missile bay doors and gave it hideous generic "weapon blocks" instead. AND, to top it all off... they changed its badass Tiger pattern into a horridly tacky generic stripe crapfest. This is now the best I can do with it(DERP):

How bout we appeal to both? Keep the original arm on the yen low if it uses an ac20 and the juice box arm if it's using more than 1 ballistic. The same can be applied to the centurions, if a centurion is using 1 ballistic it will use the boomstick arm, if more than one it will use the new model. Win win right there.

As for the AL i personally would like to see its old model back, and the missile bay doors can be optional.

But missile bay doors always were optional. That's the crazy thing. All one had to do in order to "remove" them, was hit the / key when the match started.

Also, I find your proposal about how to implement both gun models to be very reasonable.
