Well, I'm here to say that's not true (except for the violent porn and in Scoop's part the whole norman bates thing). Not only have I been free to play with the mechs I want, I've come to find the Kurita guys are overall decent people. More importantly, they're decent people that know how to play and not take the game super srs or mess it up by being a larper.

This isn't to say I didn't enjoy my time at my previous home. They're downright good people too. But I just want to point out to all the drifters and pugs out there that if you float around and try hanging out with different factions, eventually you'll find a few places where you really fit in.

How does roleplaying negatively impact YOUR experience? It adds immersion to the game.

Well when role players completely ignore the game mechanics to the detriment of anything else it kinda sorta hurts. I think that in and of itself is self evident. I'd love to have more role play possibilities and some MMO additions to enhance MWO but that may be a while before something that crazy comes along.

By itself, roleplaying is fine. But when roleplayers start asking for changes to game mechanics or features to support their version of roles, it becomes inappropriate and annoying. e.g. clan factions should not be allowed to employ merc units, or certain mechs should be limited to use by houses where they were traditionally employed, etc.
