For a week now I've noticed horrible brief second lags/fps drops/freezes

I think it has to do with the new patch, and DX11 but I'm not sure

any info on this or a fix?

Do you mean the server lagging or your framerate dipping/inputlag. If it's the latter, take a look if it coincides with smokeclouds being created by overheating mechs, that issue irregularly appears for me.

In my case, frame drop can occur during heavy battles as well as low intensity moment, with or without smoke.
Even while stationary and pointing at the sky.
Changing the graphics setting doesn't help.
Temperatures in the computer are always ok.

I found out something pretty strange, in testing grounds I'll have like 150 fps, then this will occur I will see it drop down to around 60 or something, then I set a cap to 60 fps and notice it drops to the 40's when this happens, then I set it to max 50 and it drops down to 25fps when it happens, so It's like it's going to happen no matter what.

It's not the cpu throttling, and It's not the video card throttling, any other ideas?

Edit: Oh and It's not dx11 It happens more prominently on dx11 but also occurs in dx9

I'm experiencing the same issues, but I don't have any good testing on it - it happens infrequently, but with noticeable persistence.

What are your specs? I'm interested in everything you can list because others I've talked too are not having this problem maybe it's something we share in our systems

I found nothing similar except that we both have realtek hd audio (which I don't even use for mechwarrior I use a mbox) and the fact we both are using ps/2 keyboards instead of usb.

edit: Just tried disabling realtek in device manager and using a USB keyboard, no luck same stutters occur.

I have noticed an effect where the action momentarily slows down, then speeds up to catch up to real time. It does not seem to be reflected by the FPS counter. Is that what you guys are describing, or do you mean the usual FPS drops from particle effects near the camera?

No, I'm experiencing "skipping," a loss of frames that makes the game look a little like early stop-motion. I don't think it catches up, per se, the action just stutters and then smooths out again until it's running normally - based on your description, we may be talking about the same thing.

I have also experienced severe lag spikes, so severe as to make game unplayable. I thought it was related to the event and the high number of CW players, but I have continued to experience these spikes after the event and in solo PUG drops.

YES!! I have been experiencing this for about two days now, after the CW event. I am an Aussie MechWarrior, but I have never really had any latency issues that make the game unplayable. Now, I experience serious lag, my shots don't connect, I'm constantly running into teammates when I think I'm clear etc. Not getting the "stuttering" you guys are getting however.
I noticed it straight away as well, when I'm going through the systems check animation, the HUD takes about 3 seconds longer than normal to pop up after the "All Systems Nominal" confirmation.
Really devastated, I am starting to get a nice collection of mechs and modules. Plus I was enjoying the CW and striking a blow for FRR, now looks like I will have to take a break until its sorted out (hopefully). It's weird, I still have the same ping but experiencing major lag. Definitely not a hardware issue either.
