Whenever I attempt to remove or add a mounted cockpit item while using the 64 bit client, the client freezes and ultimately crashes. I have put in a support ticket for this (164395) but I haven't heard back from anyone since March 25th.

My client always crashes when exiting game, and next time I want to play I need to run Repairtool to get it starting again.

Right click on your MWO shortcut or .exe file, select Properties, select Compatibility tab, check Run as Admin, click Apply, click Ok...

I noticed better stability running MWOx64 in Admin mode, hope this helps... it still crashes upon exiting game sometimes.

Thanks Grendel408. I'll try that.

How about **** no? First of all, this is a security risk, no matter how minor. Second of all, I do not trust PGI to not break my OS if given free reign. Thirdly, permission checking must be programmed correctly, or things will really go to hell in Windows 10.

Well dude... I run Win7x64 Ultimate and I was offering a general bit of advice to EOD Operator in troubleshooting when they switched to allowing the 64bit client for MWO. Without it, it was unstable so I adjusted my program startup settings.

I actually set all my trusted software to run as an admin and allow the firewall to give that program the control it needs over a network/internet because it's been programmed to communicate in some form or another... not having third-party software also helps too. But... you have Win10 so maybe this option is not the same for that OS or you're paranoia gets the better of you.

Just an update. It's still happening.

Every once and a while, it'll let me unequip and even equip a new mounted cockpit item (war horn and the like). However, if I switch it out enough, I can duplicate the crash every time. This is happening in 64 bit mode only. The game runs like silk otherwise.

Did you send the crashdumps through to support?
And have you run the repair tool with the 6GB or so of files it updates?

Happens to me ( a lot ) if I run x64 and dx11 but hardly ever if I run x64 and dx9.

Im on win home preem x64 with a dx11 display card but for some reason it doesn't like mwo dx11, realy I shouldn't be surprised given the overall broad range of shenanigans implemented by these guys :P
