I thought the direction was perfect, but the story kind of threw me. Why did Mortimer turn himself in for a crime he did not commit? When did the guy in the wheelchair learn to walk? Why is everyone speaking French except the wrestler?
And what was with all the clowns? Why are there always clowns in these things?

Iron, I think it would be most prudent if I avoid answering such burning questions, and leave it all open to the viewer's interpretation.
