Smokescreen would provide a larger body of smoke than Arti/Airstrike. Can "shoot" it like an arti...

Mobile UAV would be like glider that arcs up to about 200m and continues in a straight line until shot down, hits a border (and just stays there, pushing unable to move forward), or runs its course (1000m)

Decoy would be a targetable rumbling heat generator. It would be a tiny device (think NARC-sized) that would be lob-able to a distance and would show up by radar, heat vision (emit heat) and bounce around in place to trigger seismic.

Ugh.

NO.

Consumable Warrior Online is CANCER.

There's no reason for consumables to exist in the first place.

Artillery/air strikes? = Long Toms & Arrow IV missiles.

UAVs? = Scout mechs with BAP & tag, ffs.

Coolshots? = Coolant Flush.


The last thing this game needs is *MORE* non-canon cancer.

I won't say MWO *isn't* already struggling in terms with adhering to canon. But "canon" in the case of BT TT is a bit of a <cough cough> moving target already with seen/unseen/reseen/ etc.

My thoughts are if we already have this system lets get a variety...

These are quite good suggestions.
Non-damaging options that add some variety.

There are plenty of items that were not considered for the board game that we can now consider thanks to advances in tech.
With those three ideas, I don't see a huge amount of coding that would be needed either.

The smoke screen just needs a timer for how long it produces smoke and it's little more than the smoke that we get from a destroyed mech as a consumable. I would suggest that when activated it just pops from your mech and starts producing the smoke at your location.

The mobile UAV is going to be impossible to shoot down so to balance it, making it a fast projectile that detonates after a certain distance gives it different functionality and value to the standard UAV.

The decoy is a nice idea and could easily be based on the UAV also. Drop it on the ground, it can be detected and destroyed. Have it expire after a short time frame, same as the UAV.

Some nice ideas to introduce some variety in other areas and add some new tactical options.

I'd probably rename Mobile UAV to Satellite Sweep and have it do a scan, say as wide as a Grid square, in the direction the mech sending the sweep is facing.

I think we need some consumables that can only be accessed or used from the battle grid as the commander.
Perhaps make their availability based on certain factors from the game.
ie. On conquest maps once you get X points you can trigger an Arrow 4 missile barrage or a Long Tom attack at a square on the map.
Plenty of options that could be added and I would like to see the lance and commander roles become worth while.
